自人類社會產生,法律和語言可以堪稱最偉大的兩項發(fā)明。語言是人類思想交流最重要的載體,而法律作為最高行為準則維系社會的運轉、更替、發(fā)展。語言與法律是緊密聯系在一起的。中國法律有著悠久而輝煌的歷史,相傳早在公元前2000年前的夏朝就已經有了比較完備的刑律。然而在西方,一直到公元前5世紀的希臘才形成了法律體系。關于法律的起源,中國比西方要早得多。但遺憾的是中國對法律翻譯的研究起步卻很晚。舊中國閉關鎖國的政策嚴重阻礙了我國法律翻譯的進程及其對法律翻譯的研究。新中國成立以后,法律翻譯及其對其研究逐漸受到重視。隨著我國加入世界貿易組織及其全球化進程的加快,我們應當更加關注法律翻譯在社會生活中所起的重要作用。尤其是近年來,2008奧運會,全球經濟危機以及2010世博會使世界成為一個整體,同時也使人們深刻感受到世界的緊密聯系。毫無疑問,法律翻譯在人類文明進程中起了重要作用。正如Susan Sarcevic所說,我們正處在一個多語時代,而翻譯成了各國關系及法律溝通的媒介。翻譯文本同樣具有法律效力,甚至會帶來和平或者引起戰(zhàn)爭。如今隨著人員、物資和資本自由流通需求的增加,法律翻譯對社會生活的各個方面都產生了...
