語言自然主義一直是語言哲學和科學的認識方法以及研究手段之一。最早的語言自然認識方法源于柏拉圖的《克拉底魯篇》，在這部作品中闡釋了語言與自然的關系，提出了語言現實主義，奠定了后世語言、思維和世界的三維模式。語言的自然主義方法與現代語言學理論密切相連，奠定了形式邏輯、心理和社會的三位一體的研究方法。形式邏輯蘊涵語言的形式化和公理化，在自然主義角度借鑒了自然哲學的認識手段；而心理和社會分別假定語言是心理和社會產物，從自然主義角度標識了經驗化的語言心理和社會過程。三位一體的研究方法從認識論角度構成了語言先驗主義、唯理主義和經驗主義的認識論體系，分別假定語言是先天的內在稟賦和后天的行為及刺激的產物，二者均為自然主義認識方式，可依賴理性主義進行歸納和建構。傳統(tǒng)的語言自然主義思想在本文中作為語言自然化認識論以及語言的自然方法的理論基礎。在評價奎因和喬姆斯基語言自然主義思想基礎上，文章嘗試把語言從認識領域轉到本體領域，也就是把語言放到包括心理和社會范疇的更開闊的自然主義范疇，從而描述語言的自然屬性和特征。在這里，論文嘗試用本體論代替認識論，即語言不僅反應客觀存在，本身也是客觀存在的一個部分，可以用最基...
