從跨文化交際視角看社區(qū)口譯員的角色

口譯按照其發(fā)生的場合可分為會議口譯和社區(qū)口譯。會議口譯服務于各種國際性會議,而社區(qū)口譯主要服務于國家內(nèi)部的公共服務部門,例如醫(yī)院、法庭、學校、聾啞人社區(qū)等。過去對口譯的研究主要集中在會議口譯領域。近年來,由于國際交流日益頻繁,越來越多的外國人來中國生活、工作,很多公共部門例如醫(yī)院、法院等在工作中遇到的跨文化交流越來越多,語言障礙問題也越來越突出。因此,社區(qū)口譯日益引起人們的重視。過去多數(shù)對口譯員的角色定位很大程度上受到“傳聲筒模式”的影響,而這一模式是基于會議口譯員的工作特點提出的。社區(qū)口譯在工作中比會議口譯涉及更多的面對面交流,這使得社區(qū)口譯員積極參與到跨文化交流中,而不僅僅只是擔任一個傳聲筒的角色。筆者首先對社區(qū)口譯的特點進行了分析,指出其區(qū)別于會議口譯的最顯著特點在于過程中包含更多面對面的交流;然后,從跨文化交流的角度對社區(qū)口譯員的角色進行了探討,并將其角色概括為跨文化交流促進者,其中包含語言翻譯者、文化調(diào)解者、話輪控制者三個小角色。筆者還提出了一些方案,提高社區(qū)口譯員作為跨文化交流促進者的素質(zhì)。這些方案主要分為三個方面:第一,鍛煉提升口譯員的基本素質(zhì),如筆記、短期記憶力、分析理...
