【摘要】：本文選取了國內先鋒派代表人物余華的《兄弟》英譯本作為批評對象,并以目的論作為理論視角來進行翻譯批評。傳統(tǒng)的文學翻譯批評將視角囿于譯作是否與源語文本“對等”和“忠實”并將其作為評判譯作的唯一標準。20世紀70年代德國以萊斯、弗米爾和諾德為代表的目的論學派則為翻譯研究提供了一個嶄新的視角,從靜態(tài)的的語言翻譯觀轉向了動態(tài)的翻譯分析和探究,認為譯者在翻譯過程中要根據譯文的預期目的來決定自己的翻譯策略和方法,評判譯作主要看譯文達到預期目的的程度。 本文在目的論視角之下從三個維度對《兄弟》英譯本進行了宏觀層面和微觀層面的翻譯批評,首先是譯者維度,確立了譯者的翻譯目的,并對譯者主體性的進行了分析,認為譯者主體性的發(fā)揮包括譯者的創(chuàng)新和對原文的尊重兩個方面,這在一定程度上與目的論提出的翻譯原則是一致的。其次,是目的語讀者維度,對目的語讀者對于《兄弟》英譯本的接受從文學層面和翻譯層面進行了分析和總結,并回答了目的語讀者對于譯本反映的緣由。最后從微觀層面對譯本運用目的原則、連貫原則、忠實原則和忠誠原則進行分析：探索了譯者是如何采取翻譯策略對中國文化進行傳遞并反映中國社會現實從而達到預期的翻譯目的的；分析了譯者如何根據兩種語言和文化的不同而采取翻譯策略使得譯文在目的語文化環(huán)境下有意義；運用忠實原則,對于譯本是否再現了源語文本的文學風格進行了探索；最后運用忠誠原則對在翻譯過程中,分析譯者是如何協(xié)調好原作者、譯者自身以及目的語讀者之間的關系從而達到共識的。 經過上述分析,本文認為《兄弟》的譯者羅浩和周成蔭夫婦根據翻譯目的采取了合適的翻譯策略,忠實地展現了中華文化并反映了中國社會過去40余年的生活風貌,并很好地傳遞了原作的文學風格從而達到了預期的翻譯目的。
