　　《我彌留之際》是美國南方作家�？思{于1930年的杰作。它通過敘述一家人荒誕而又艱難的送葬過程,刻畫了一群思想幻滅與精神疏離的現(xiàn)代人形象,呈現(xiàn)給我們一個充斥著通奸、兄弟反目、弒父和背叛的“荒原”社會。這樣一個主題意象的最終意圖是表達(dá)出作者對現(xiàn)代社會中人的異化狀態(tài)和生存困境的思考。由此,�？思{的文學(xué)關(guān)注也正如二十世紀(jì)現(xiàn)代派作家的關(guān)注一樣,都是通過文學(xué)作品反思現(xiàn)代社會中的種種弊病。 但是作為20世紀(jì)杰出的文體學(xué)家和小說家,�？思{表現(xiàn)這個主題的藝術(shù)手法卻是獨(dú)到的。與喬伊斯的“交錯式”意識流的表現(xiàn)手法不同,�？思{采用了“復(fù)合式”意識流的表現(xiàn)手法,即通過不同性格、不同遭遇、不同動機(jī)的人物的意識流動來敘述同一個故事,這樣使得故事內(nèi)容更加集中,使得讀者更能關(guān)注同樣的事件在不同人的內(nèi)心產(chǎn)生的影響。如在《我彌留之際》中,他通過15個敘述者的59章敘述展現(xiàn)出多視角的敘事,而這種手法不僅能讓讀者全方位地了解人物的心態(tài),更是從形式上表現(xiàn)了異化狀態(tài),因?yàn)檫@個敘事角度使得每個敘述者都是封閉的個體,都是精神上的“異化”人。由此,�？思{真正做到了現(xiàn)代派所追求的以“顯現(xiàn)”(show)替代“講述”(tell)的藝術(shù)效果。...
