【摘要】：莫言是中國當(dāng)代著名作家,于2012年10月11日獲得諾貝爾文學(xué)獎,是首位獲得該獎的中國籍作家。莫言作品得以在海外廣泛傳播與葛浩文對其作品的翻譯是密不可分的。國內(nèi)外學(xué)者主要集中于對莫言長篇小說的研究,而且多從文學(xué)角度展開,鮮有對其中篇小說的翻譯做全面系統(tǒng)的研究。《師傅越來越幽默》是莫言最具代表性的中篇小說之一。因此本文借助順應(yīng)論這一理論框架來研究葛浩文對《師傅越來越幽默》的英譯,以便更好地解釋順應(yīng)論對翻譯的指導(dǎo)作用。順應(yīng)論是比利時學(xué)者維索爾倫在著作《語用學(xué)新解》中提出的理論,被認(rèn)為是一個非常具有解釋力及應(yīng)用價值的語用學(xué)理論,為語用學(xué)的研究提供了全新的視角。順應(yīng)論的核心是語言使用是一個動態(tài)順應(yīng)的過程,人們在動態(tài)過程中不斷做出動態(tài)選擇。翻譯過程是一個不斷進(jìn)行動態(tài)選擇的過程。一部好的翻譯作品要能夠有效地順應(yīng)原文本的語言、文化和社會信息。本文主要從語境順應(yīng)角度對譯本進(jìn)行研究分析,語境分為語言語境和交際語境,前者包括篇內(nèi)銜接、互文性和線性序列,后者包括心理世界、社交世界和物理世界。本文主要研究譯者在翻譯過程中使用了什么翻譯方法來實現(xiàn)交際語境的順應(yīng)以及怎樣處理語言語境中的中國文化詞來表現(xiàn)師傅的幽默。通過定性研究分析發(fā)現(xiàn):譯者主要采用直譯、直譯加注的方法處理社交世界中俗語的翻譯;用意譯、省略、替代的翻譯方法順應(yīng)心理世界、物理世界以及社交世界中文化負(fù)載詞的翻譯,有效地處理漢英文化的差異,更好地傳達(dá)交際信息,順應(yīng)交際語境,使目標(biāo)讀者更容易接受。在順應(yīng)語言語境的翻譯方面,譯者主要采用音譯、直譯加注和增譯的翻譯方法,忠實的再現(xiàn)和傳達(dá)原文信息,保留原文風(fēng)格,生動地表現(xiàn)了師傅的幽默。為了達(dá)到更好的翻譯效果,譯者必須考慮語言語境和交際語境的各種情況以實現(xiàn)語境的動態(tài)順應(yīng)。研究莫言《師傅越來越幽默》的英譯本進(jìn)一步證實了順應(yīng)論對翻譯具有很強(qiáng)的解釋力。對該譯本的研究還可以讓讀者體會到特定時代中國文化的特點(diǎn),有利于中國文化的傳播。
