【摘要】：隨著全球化不斷推進(jìn)，積極向西方世界推廣中國文化的任務(wù)越來越來引起黨和國家的重視。在推進(jìn)文化傳播時(shí)，翻譯起到了越來越重要的作用，翻譯界也對如何有效地傳播我國文化展開了激烈的爭辯。尤其是在1995年韋努蒂提出關(guān)于歸化異化的理論之后，關(guān)于文化翻譯的歸化異化之爭愈演愈烈。 《京華煙云》是林語堂先生在20世紀(jì)30年代創(chuàng)作的一本英文作品。該作品曾被四次提名諾貝爾文學(xué)獎(jiǎng)，可見這部文學(xué)巨著在西方世界的影響力。在這部作品中，林語堂先生向西方讀者展示了一個(gè)原汁原味的中國，，作品中涉及到了中國文化的方方面面，有關(guān)中國文化的描寫明顯具有翻譯的痕跡。在過去關(guān)于《京華煙云》的文化翻譯研究中，重點(diǎn)主要放在《京華煙云》及其中文譯本的部分中國文化翻譯策略的研究上，沒有涉及利用歸化異化對《京華煙云》原著中的中國文化項(xiàng)整體研究。本文對《京華煙云》中出現(xiàn)的中國文化項(xiàng)進(jìn)行分類，并利用歸化異化理論分別對各類專有項(xiàng)的表達(dá)進(jìn)行分析，以期發(fā)現(xiàn)林語堂對不同文化項(xiàng)分別所采用的翻譯策略。 本文主要有三個(gè)發(fā)現(xiàn)：（1）林語堂在作品中傳播中國文化主要采取異化策略。（2）在處理絕對文化空缺項(xiàng)時(shí)，林語堂主要采取了翻譯異化策略中的直譯加解釋的翻譯方法。（3）在處理相對文化空缺項(xiàng)時(shí)，林語堂主要采取了直譯和音譯兩種翻譯方法。在此基礎(chǔ)之上，本文還討論了林語堂翻譯策略和方法的原因。 本文作者通過這樣的分析，以期給翻譯愛好者尤其是致力于文化翻譯的從事者們一些啟示，怎樣才能有效地向西方世界最大程度的展示中國文化。
