【摘要】：當(dāng)代著名學(xué)者錢鐘書先生的小說《圍城》以其豐富多彩、詼諧幽默、發(fā)人深省的比喻修辭而為人所稱道。在翻譯過程中,譯者是采取何種策略處理這些比喻修辭的呢?是要把源語本土化,以目標(biāo)語或譯文讀者為歸宿,采取目標(biāo)語讀者所習(xí)慣的表達方式來傳達原文內(nèi)容的歸化翻譯策略,還是遷就外來文化的語言特點,吸納外語表達方式,要求譯者向作者靠攏,采取相應(yīng)于作者所使用的源語表達方式,來傳達原文內(nèi)容的異化翻譯策略?由于學(xué)者們對這兩種翻譯策略眾說紛壇,本文就以珍妮凱利和茅國權(quán)的《圍城》英譯本為載體,對中英比喻修辭做了對比分析,旨在為比喻修辭翻譯的歸化異化提供一定的理據(jù)。 論文分為四章：第一章介紹了本文研究的背景、意義及方法。比喻不僅僅被認為是一種修辭手段,同時還是一種重要的文化交流手段。譯者必須深諳所要交流的民族語言與文化,透徹理解翻譯中的文化差異,這樣才能兼兩策略之長而避其短,譯文才能既忠實原文又能為讀者所接受,使兩者有共同發(fā)展的空間。 第二章著重敘述了比喻修辭以及由于中國與西方文化的差異導(dǎo)致兩國在比喻意象及其聯(lián)想意義截然不同。其次闡述了翻譯標(biāo)準(zhǔn)及比喻翻譯的技巧,指出在處理英漢比喻句翻譯時,要靈活應(yīng)用直譯法和意譯法,力求使原文和譯文保持一致,形神兼?zhèn)洹Ｗ詈蠼榻B了歸化異化這兩種翻譯方法并指出其優(yōu)缺點,同時闡述了國內(nèi)外學(xué)者們對歸化異化的爭論,提出選取一個策略而完全排除另一種策略的做法是不可取的,也是不現(xiàn)實的。它們各有優(yōu)勢,也各有缺陷,因此顧此失彼不能達到最終翻譯的目的。我們應(yīng)堅持對語言形式采取歸化的策略,而對其文化因素進行異化處理。 第三章,從圍城英譯本中一些典型的比喻修辭實例著手,對明喻、隱喻、博喻、引喻及轉(zhuǎn)喻五種不同的比喻修辭進行分析比較。 最后一章對全文進行總結(jié)。譯者為傳播中國文化,促進中西方文化交流采取異化為主歸化為輔的翻譯策略。 作者衷心希望,本研究能對翻譯工作者有所啟迪,幫助翻譯工作者在翻譯實踐中靈活應(yīng)用兩種翻譯策略,改善翻譯質(zhì)量。
