【摘要】：小說在傳播國家文化中起到至關重要的作用。中國作家莫言是2012年度諾貝爾文學獎獲得者,這是中國大陸首次獲得諾貝爾文學獎,因此莫言和他的作品引起世人的關注。莫言的小說享譽全球,并被翻譯成多種語言。莫言的小說中含有大量的轉(zhuǎn)喻現(xiàn)象,它們在幫助讀者理解莫言的寫作意圖和所要表達的含義過程中起重要作用。因此,為了讓讀者獲取更多的莫言寫作的原意,這些轉(zhuǎn)喻現(xiàn)象應該準確適當?shù)刈g入英語�！敦S乳肥臀》作為莫言代表作之一,也在英語國家中頗受歡迎。本文以轉(zhuǎn)喻理論為基礎,分析轉(zhuǎn)喻在該小說中所起的作用,另外,作者以葛浩文的《豐乳肥臀》英譯本作為參考,探索轉(zhuǎn)喻是如何從漢語譯入英語的。該研究采用定性研究手段,由三部分組成:對莫言小說《豐乳肥臀》中轉(zhuǎn)喻現(xiàn)象的分析,莫言小說《豐乳肥臀》中轉(zhuǎn)喻的翻譯策略以及對轉(zhuǎn)喻從漢語譯入英語過程中的可譯性研究。在上述三步研究的基礎上,本研究得出的結(jié)論主要如下所述:述謂轉(zhuǎn)喻、事件模式轉(zhuǎn)喻、結(jié)果代原因/原因代結(jié)果轉(zhuǎn)喻、指稱轉(zhuǎn)喻、轉(zhuǎn)喻委婉語和言語行為轉(zhuǎn)喻等等;第二,該小說中的轉(zhuǎn)喻所起的作用分別是:述謂轉(zhuǎn)喻和言語行為轉(zhuǎn)喻可以反映小說人物的心理活動和性格、事件模式轉(zhuǎn)喻實現(xiàn)了語言的經(jīng)濟性、結(jié)果代原因/原因代結(jié)果轉(zhuǎn)喻可以強調(diào)或者忽略某些情節(jié)、轉(zhuǎn)喻委婉語可以讓對話者雙方保持和諧體面的關系、指稱轉(zhuǎn)喻使作者可以突出強調(diào)某人或某物的某一特征;第三,莫言小說《豐乳肥臀》中的轉(zhuǎn)喻主要采取了采用源語喻體、采用源語喻標、采用目標語獨有喻體以及省略源語喻體等翻譯策略;第四,轉(zhuǎn)喻的可譯性以及轉(zhuǎn)喻由漢語譯入英語的限制性因素在一定程度上得到發(fā)現(xiàn),限制轉(zhuǎn)喻可譯性的因素主要是語言中蘊含的文化、不同語言所獨有的語言結(jié)構(gòu)以及源語中的喻體是否能在目標語中有與同一喻標相符合的喻標。由于對轉(zhuǎn)喻的漢英翻譯需要進一步充實,本研究基于莫言小說《豐乳肥臀》中的轉(zhuǎn)喻以及葛浩文的翻譯,拓展了轉(zhuǎn)喻的翻譯策略。另外,本研究探索了漢英轉(zhuǎn)喻翻譯的可譯性,以發(fā)現(xiàn)一些阻止?jié)h英轉(zhuǎn)喻可譯性的因素。
