關(guān)聯(lián)理論框架下《儒林外史》中漢語習(xí)語的英譯研究

  作為語言的核心和智慧的結(jié)晶,習(xí)語在形式上大多簡潔明了、結(jié)構(gòu)固定,語言上生動風(fēng)趣,幽默詼諧,意義上,內(nèi)涵豐富,承載了很多中國特有的文化信息。關(guān)聯(lián)理論提出翻譯過程其實(shí)也是一種交際行為,遵循明示推理模式,最佳關(guān)聯(lián)是評價翻譯是否成功的準(zhǔn)則,從而合理的解釋了翻譯這一特殊的跨文化交際活動。然而,前人對于習(xí)語翻譯的研究大部分都是側(cè)重于文化的角度,從關(guān)聯(lián)理論的角度來研究習(xí)語翻譯者不多。本文所研究的習(xí)語取自中國諷刺小說的經(jīng)典代表作《儒林外史》,英譯選自楊憲益和戴乃迭夫婦合譯的英譯版。楊、戴合譯的英譯版,被認(rèn)為是《儒林外史》英譯版中最為成功的,也是迄今為止唯一的一部全譯本。本文采用定量和定性相結(jié)合的方法。首先對《儒林外史》中漢語習(xí)語以及對應(yīng)英文翻譯進(jìn)行了收集,整理,歸類,然后以關(guān)聯(lián)理論為基礎(chǔ),從明示推理交際模式和最佳關(guān)聯(lián)兩個角度,對習(xí)語翻譯的過程和結(jié)果進(jìn)行了分析,并且探討了關(guān)聯(lián)理論視角下楊氏夫婦所采用的習(xí)語翻譯方法。本文對《儒林外史》英譯的研究主要圍繞以下三個問題進(jìn)行:(一)《儒林外史》中所呈現(xiàn)出的漢語習(xí)語特征是什么?(二)關(guān)聯(lián)理論如何解釋《儒林外史》中的習(xí)語翻譯?(三)楊、戴在《儒林外史》中采取了哪些習(xí)...
