【摘要】：宋詞包含著豐富的文化內(nèi)涵,代表著中國傳統(tǒng)文化的精華,將其翻譯成英文有助于向世界推廣中華文化。然而,由于語言文化的差異,損失在翻譯過程中的發(fā)生在所難免。翻譯損失貫穿于翻譯活動的整個過程,存在于語言信息、意義、文化傳遞和審美形式等各個層面,損失的程度也大小不等。故翻譯補償勢在必行。翻譯補償是“根據(jù)文本類型和翻譯目的,對翻譯過程中的潛在的,或發(fā)生的損失進行的修復(fù)和彌補�！北疚倪x取許淵沖先生英譯的宋詞,以夏廷德的翻譯補償理論為基礎(chǔ)從語言學(xué)層面和審美層面分析歸納許淵沖先生為了減少翻譯損失所采取的補償策略,并分析所達到的翻譯效果：補償?shù)氖褂媚軌蚋玫厥棺g入語讀者了解詞的內(nèi)容和內(nèi)涵,并推廣中國古典文化。分析研究顯示：在宋詞翻譯中,許淵沖先生在兩個層面運用了不同的策略進行補償：語言學(xué)層面的補償主要體現(xiàn)在詞匯、語法和語篇方面。詞匯方面,譯者主要采用了增譯、具體化、概略化、文本外注釋等；語法方面,添加時間副詞、添加助詞、運用表示被動語態(tài)和復(fù)數(shù)的詞匯等；語篇方面,主要增加人稱代詞和邏輯連接詞。在審美層面上,分為審美功能的損失和補償以及文化沖突及補償。對于審美功能的補償,譯者側(cè)重對音韻、修辭和風格進行補償；對于文化沖突的補償,譯者主要采取了文化替代、文化移植和文化解釋的補償方式。
