本翻譯材料選自美國小說家凱琳?鮑威爾所著的《旋律之聲》。這部小說從女主人公和她女兒角度講述美國內(nèi)戰(zhàn)前一個小家庭的故事。突出了19世紀(jì)中葉捕鯨業(yè)鼎盛時期新英格蘭南塔基特島三代居民的生活。筆者選取小說的前兩章作為本次翻譯實踐的材料。為了再現(xiàn)原文信息和寫作風(fēng)格,筆者在翻譯中針對不同的問題采用了多種翻譯方法:在詞匯方面,筆者探討了使用四字詞語和詞義拓展的方法選擇和確定詞義,還原原文語義;針對小說中的對話,筆者運用性格分析和環(huán)境分析的方法再現(xiàn)女主人公對于不同話語對象的不同講話風(fēng)格以及非裔美國人語言特征的語言特征;在篇章層面,筆者運用了標(biāo)記關(guān)鍵詞的方法還原原作的情感表達(dá)。為了再現(xiàn)小說自身平實的語言美所帶來的藝術(shù)效果,作者改變語序和視角,增加標(biāo)點符號。通過該小說的翻譯實踐,筆者深刻體會到了文學(xué)翻譯的困難和重要性,加深了對現(xiàn)代小說翻譯中的一些具體問題的認(rèn)識和理解。筆者希望本次翻譯實踐能夠為自己和他人日后所從事的其他文學(xué)翻譯實踐及相關(guān)研究提供一定的借鑒意義。
