本文的翻譯文本選擇的是美國作家梅琳達(dá)·梅茨的《貓的心事兒》。這本小說的內(nèi)容豐富生動并且語言幽默風(fēng)趣。因此,譯者根據(jù)小說的特點(diǎn)和本次翻譯文本的特點(diǎn),以語境理論為指導(dǎo)解決翻譯過程中遇到的問題。在翻譯過程中,譯者遇到的問題涉及到方方面面,既有詞義選擇、語氣詞的翻譯等詞匯方面的問題,也有人物性格塑造、修辭的處理、以及語言風(fēng)格方面的問題。所以本報告將從詞匯、句法和修辭三個方面來探究小說翻譯的策略。針對翻譯中出現(xiàn)的問題,譯者主要使用了引申、轉(zhuǎn)換、省略和增詞等方法。除此之外,譯者還在語境理論指導(dǎo)下,根據(jù)中英兩種語言的特征,結(jié)合小說的情景語境與文化背景,解決翻譯過程中出現(xiàn)的問題,使譯文盡可能的忠實(shí)地道。論文的正文部分由翻譯實(shí)踐介紹、翻譯過程、理論介紹及應(yīng)用、案例分析和總結(jié)五部分組成,重點(diǎn)在案例分析部分。在翻譯的過程中,語境理論對文本的翻譯起到了很大的指導(dǎo)作用,它不僅有助于譯者掌握小說的翻譯方法,還使譯者意識到了中外語言能力對小說翻譯的重要性。
