【摘要】：《加州人的故事》是美國作家馬克·吐溫的短篇小說,講述了一個因失去妻子而癡嗔的男子的故事,暗諷美國當時的淘金狂熱者在美夢破滅之后的癲狂狀態(tài)。正是這樣一篇"名不見經(jīng)傳"的作品,受到晚清和民國時期兩名譯者吳禱和周瘦鵑的相繼關(guān)注,并被分別譯為《山家奇遇》(1906)和《妻》(1915)。本文對比研究了兩個譯本,著重從語言特征及背景因素方面,探究譯本的歷史和現(xiàn)實價值。本文從三個層次對比分析《加州人的故事》在晚清和民國時期的兩個版本,對原作和兩個譯作進行了立體的解讀。關(guān)于譯本語言的深度解析,歸納了二者在文體風格,翻譯手法上的差異及背后的原因。關(guān)于譯本的社會背景和譯者個人因素的論述能夠全面多維地還原譯本的創(chuàng)作生態(tài),為兩個譯本所呈現(xiàn)的語言現(xiàn)象提供解釋與支撐。兩個譯本不僅代表譯者個人的翻譯風格和水平,也能折射出在近代中國文學(xué)翻譯的發(fā)展道路上,一些進步文人的探索求新精神。而中國現(xiàn)代文學(xué)的發(fā)展也正是在諸如《山家奇遇》和《妻》那樣的優(yōu)秀的文學(xué)翻譯作品中得以萌芽衍生的。
[Abstract]:"the stories of Californians" is a short story by American writer Mark Twain about a man who is angry at the loss of his wife. It is precisely such a piece of "unknown name" that attracted the attention of Wu Jian and Zhou Shoujuan, two translators in the late Qing and the Republic of China. The two versions are translated into "Mountain Adventures" (1906) and "wife" (1915). This paper makes a contrastive study of the two versions, focusing on linguistic characteristics and background factors. This paper makes a comparative analysis of the two versions of the California Story in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China from three levels. The original and the two translated works are interpreted in a three-dimensional way, and the stylistic styles of the two versions are summed up by the in-depth analysis of the translation language. The social background of the translation and the translator's personal factors can comprehensively and multi-dimensional restore the creation ecology of the translation. The two versions not only represent the translator's translation style and level, but also reflect the development of modern Chinese literary translation. Some progressive literati's spirit of exploration and novelty, and the development of modern Chinese literature is sprout in the excellent literary translation works such as "Mountain Adventure" and "wife".
