林語堂在歷史上是一名頗具爭議的作家,同時也是一名多產(chǎn)的翻譯家,然而由于歷史原因,林語堂研究在中國大陸一直未引起足夠的重視,對其翻譯活動及翻譯作品的研究更是少之又少。本文以翻譯家林語堂為研究對象,以勒夫維爾的改寫理論為分析框架,對林語堂20世紀30年代的翻譯活動和翻譯作品進行了考察和研究,從而幫助讀者更好地理解林語堂30年代翻譯活動變化背后的深層次因素,以期為林語堂的翻譯研究添磚加瓦。20世紀30年代,林語堂的思想文化觀念,文學創(chuàng)作以及政治立場發(fā)生了巨大的轉變,并被左翼作家斥為落后與保守。其不同的翻譯類型在這一時期都有所展現(xiàn),包括了翻譯（有明確的文本）、自譯（auto-translation）和編譯（editing）等。本文根據(jù)其翻譯作品的內(nèi)容及主題,將林語堂30年代（1928-1937）的翻譯活動分成三個階段,并采用描述-解釋的方法,從意識形態(tài)、詩學和贊助人的角度,分析了林語堂三個階段翻譯文本選擇的特點及原因,從歸化、異化的角度,通過對典型例子的分析,對三個階段的翻譯策略進行了探討。通過對林語堂30年代翻譯活動的個案分析,本文認為個人主義與表現(xiàn)主義,幽默與閑適,以及性靈文學是林語堂30...
