【摘要】： 林紓的翻譯在中國翻譯史乃至中國現(xiàn)代史上都有重大而深遠(yuǎn)的意義。長久以來，林紓的翻譯就是譯學(xué)界炙手可熱的研究課題之一。作為譯者，林紓本人“不通西文”，只能與其他人合作，翻譯了大量的外國文學(xué)作品。這樣合作產(chǎn)生的譯文，其忠實(shí)性、準(zhǔn)確性不免讓人心存疑慮。而林紓本人又是位深諳古文的愛國文人，在特定的歷史時期，基于特定的翻譯目的，林紓用“他心目中認(rèn)為較通俗、較隨便、富于彈性的文言”來翻譯外國小說，對原作內(nèi)容進(jìn)行增刪，用中國的傳統(tǒng)文化對原作的某些文化因素進(jìn)行歸化。他這些大膽的翻譯行為都為文學(xué)評論家和翻譯學(xué)者們津津樂道。對于林紓翻譯的研究和評價，呈現(xiàn)出眾說紛紜、莫衷一是的景象，各種研究成果也層出不窮。即便如此，學(xué)者們對此課題的研究熱情卻從未消減。而筆者也仍嘗試從新的角度對其進(jìn)行探討。本研究擺脫了傳統(tǒng)譯論對于“忠實(shí)”、“對等”的追求，放棄了“歸化”、“異化”、“直譯”、“意譯”的絕對劃分，引進(jìn)雜合的概念，以目的論為基礎(chǔ)對林紓的譯文進(jìn)行再分析。 論文首先介紹了此項(xiàng)研究的背景、意義以及論文的基本結(jié)構(gòu)。過去幾十年來，人們對翻譯的認(rèn)識經(jīng)歷了從自發(fā)、零散的主觀感悟到系統(tǒng)的、理論體系日益成熟的轉(zhuǎn)變。傳統(tǒng)的翻譯理論多以原文為中心，強(qiáng)調(diào)譯文對原文的忠實(shí)。自從翻譯研究發(fā)生文化轉(zhuǎn)向后，，翻譯研究更多地與社會、意識形態(tài)、政治、文化等因素發(fā)生關(guān)系，并且出現(xiàn)了跨文化、跨學(xué)科的研究態(tài)勢。各種理論，包括多元系統(tǒng)論、目的論、后殖民理論、解構(gòu)主義理論等被引進(jìn)到翻譯研究中來，極大地拓寬了翻譯研究的視野，使得各種翻譯現(xiàn)象和問題可以得到更為充分地解釋。這樣的環(huán)境給我們重新審視林紓的翻譯提供了良好的理論支持和條件。 林紓的翻譯是一項(xiàng)目的性很強(qiáng)的活動。由此論文在第三章分別從目標(biāo)情境、委托人、目標(biāo)接受者和譯者等方面對林紓翻譯的目的進(jìn)行了分析闡釋。林紓作為一個愛國文人和譯者，身處社會危機(jī)重重的中國，他希望通過譯書引進(jìn)西方先進(jìn)的文化，拓展國人的視野，警醒國人，保國保種，救亡圖存。林紓的翻譯目的和當(dāng)時的意識形態(tài)保持了一致，譯書活動得到了商務(wù)印書館的資助，取得了良好的經(jīng)濟(jì)和社會效應(yīng)。 林紓翻譯的目的決定林紓采用了雜合的翻譯策略，并且由此產(chǎn)生了雜合的譯文。論文主體部分對此進(jìn)行了深入探討。林紓的譯文是全方位、多層次的雜合，表現(xiàn)在語言、文學(xué)、文化等各個方面。林紓采用淺近的文言文翻譯外國小說，對某些內(nèi)容進(jìn)行歸化，并刪減了部分中國讀者比較陌生的內(nèi)容；但與此同時他對原文的一些特征也進(jìn)行了保留，包括音譯原文的詞匯、遵循原文的寫作手法、保留原作的文化內(nèi)容等。這樣看似矛盾的舉動使得林紓的譯文兼具中國特色和異國情調(diào)，呈現(xiàn)明顯的雜合狀態(tài)。雜合的譯文在當(dāng)時的社會條件下產(chǎn)生了積極而廣泛的影響，是對林紓翻譯目的的功能性實(shí)現(xiàn)。 論文最后的結(jié)論部分，對全文的主題進(jìn)行了總結(jié)和歸納，認(rèn)為林紓的譯文是雜合的。林紓翻譯的目的決定了他采用雜合的翻譯手段，由此產(chǎn)生的譯文實(shí)現(xiàn)了他特定的翻譯目的。
[Abstract]:The translation of Lin Shu is one of the most important and far - reaching significance in Chinese translation history and even Chinese modern history .









This paper first introduces the background , significance and the basic structure of this research . In the past few decades , people have experienced the transformation from spontaneous , scattered and subjective sense to system , and the theoretical system has become more mature . Since the translation studies have shifted , the translation studies have been introduced into the translation studies more and more , which has greatly broadened the field of view of translation studies , which makes translation phenomena and problems more fully explained . Such an environment provides us with good theoretical support and conditions for re - examining the translation of Lin Shu .









The translation of Lin Shu is a very purpose - oriented activity . In chapter 3 , the author analyzes the purpose of Lin Shu ' s translation from the aspects of target situation , client , target recipient and translator .









The purpose of Lin Shu ' s translation decides that Lin Shu adopts a mixed translation strategy , and thus produces a mixed translation . The main part of this paper is in - depth discussion . The translation of Lin Shu is all - round , multi - level hybrid , manifested in various aspects of language , literature , culture and so on . Lin Shu adopts the shallow text to translate the foreign novel , carries on the naturalization of certain contents , and deletes some Chinese readers ' relatively strange content ;
But at the same time , he also retained some characteristics of the original text , including the words of the original text , followed the writing of the original text , retained the original cultural content , etc . This seemingly contradictory action caused the translation of Lin Shu to have both the Chinese characteristics and the exotic mood , and had a distinct heterozygous state . The translation of the hybrid has had a positive and extensive influence under the social conditions at that time , and it is a functional realization of the purpose of Lin Shu ' s translation .









The final conclusion part of this paper summarizes and sums up the subject of the whole text , and concludes that Lin Shu ' s translation is heterozygous . The purpose of Lin Shu ' s translation decides that he uses the means of translation , and the translated translation realizes his specific translation purpose .
