[Abstract]:Since the 1980s, great changes in China's reform and opening up, as well as social, economic and political changes, have brought a new trend of thought to the Chinese art community. Printmaking, once regarded as a "revolutionary weapon", was also strongly impacted by this ideological craze in this period, and showed its brand-new features. The rise of academic printmaking and the popularity of all kinds of lyric prints make Chinese black-and-white woodcut prints present a rich and prosperous scene both in style and in subject matter and technology. Artists break away from the shackles of traditional language and have more ideas in modeling, composition and pursuit of beauty. The content of the picture is no longer based on traditional revolutionary themes. Printmaking in various places began to be active and frequent communication. In the new period, printmakers began to pay attention to the expression of individuality, with the help of western artistic ideas and enrich the expression language and form of Chinese black-and-white woodcut prints. Strive for a breakthrough in knife method, black and white constitution, enhance the aesthetic sense of form in the screen. Some artists also study the composition and texture of the body, breaking through the problem of the same composition form in the past, and opening up a new chapter in the art of printmaking.
