【摘要】：在我們生活中存在著形形色色的符號,每一個人時時刻刻也在使用各種符號,當然,語言也是人類使用的重要符號之一。語言是文化的載體文化也是語言的塑造者。作為語言的一個活躍部分,詞匯明顯地承載著人類的文化信息。英語中除了一部分核心詞匯外,許多詞都常帶有特定的文化信息,即所謂的文化負載.詞,這些詞中的內(nèi)涵意義常常成為學習者理解和使用英語的障礙。 本文從符號學的視角對英漢文化負載詞展開了對比分析。主要理論依據(jù)來自皮爾斯的符號增長以及羅蘭巴特的符號的層級系統(tǒng)。根據(jù)文化負載詞在跨文化交際中所起的不同影響,將文化負載詞分為具有相似內(nèi)涵意義,具有不同內(nèi)涵意義和內(nèi)涵意義只存在于一種語言中這三種類型。在這三種類型分類的大框架下,每一種類型下又細致到顏色詞,植物詞,動物詞,數(shù)字詞以及方位詞為主要對比對象,并采用大量文化負載詞的例子來展開對比研究。本文還分析了產(chǎn)生這些文化內(nèi)涵詞其內(nèi)涵意義異同的原因,涉及到地理環(huán)境,審美標準,思維方式,風俗習慣,以及宗教信仰等因素。最后,分別對于英語的教與學給出的一些意見。英語的學習,不僅是音標,詞匯,語法等語言內(nèi)部的學習,更是一種文化的交流。文化內(nèi)涵詞給跨文化交際造成了不少阻礙,所以,對文化內(nèi)涵詞的研究,非常有利于英漢文化的認識以及順利進行跨文化交際,同時給詞匯教學也指出了新的方向。
