【摘要】：禮貌是日常生活中促進人際交往的一項重要的社會準則，如何禮貌待人則成為語言學家研究的重要議題。在禮貌的語用學研究中，影響最大的就是利奇的禮貌原則以及布朗和萊文森的禮貌策略理論。利奇的禮貌原則是我們理解禮貌現(xiàn)象的重要原則，，布朗和萊文森的禮貌策略理論是語料研究的必要指導基礎(chǔ)。 本文選取中國著名作家錢鐘書的小說《圍城》中男主人公和周圍人們的對話作為語料，意在通過分析以中文為母語的小說《圍城》中男主人公方鴻漸與不同性別、年齡及社會或家庭地位的人們之間的對話中禮貌策略的使用情況來驗證布朗和萊文森的禮貌策略理論的普遍適用性及局限性。 除了對特定人物間對話以及各策略使用情況分類分析之外，本文使用圖表展示了不同性別、年齡及社會或家庭地位的人們之間使用禮貌策略的統(tǒng)計數(shù)據(jù)，使得禮貌策略使用傾向的對比更為清晰明了。 本文發(fā)現(xiàn)，布朗和萊文森的禮貌策略理論框架具有普遍適用性，但除了性別、年齡和相對權(quán)勢等因素的影響，人們對禮貌策略的使用偏好很大程度上還受不同文化背景的影響。此外，對話分析中多次出現(xiàn)的同時使用一個以上的禮貌策略的情況也使得對話雙方的溝通更加順利。
