生態(tài)語言學(xué)自二十世紀(jì)七十年代開創(chuàng)以來,已在國內(nèi)外語言學(xué)界引起廣泛關(guān)注。增強語言和文化生態(tài)的保護(hù)意識、維護(hù)語言文化生態(tài)系統(tǒng)的平衡,在中國建設(shè)和諧社會的新時期具有重要意義。 本文從生態(tài)語言學(xué)理論架構(gòu)出發(fā),以生態(tài)語言學(xué)中語言多樣性問題為研究點,選取荊州地區(qū)年輕人為研究對象,通過研究其語言態(tài)度來分析當(dāng)?shù)氐恼Z言生態(tài)。本研究主要采用社會語言學(xué)問卷、訪談?wù){(diào)查等方法,以不同年齡階段的120名荊州學(xué)生為實驗對象,通過調(diào)查研究,試圖獲得以下問題的答案：1.荊州地區(qū)年輕人語言使用情況以及他們對普通話、荊州方言和英語的語言態(tài)度是怎樣的?2.如何運用生態(tài)語言學(xué)原理解釋這些語言態(tài)度在荊州產(chǎn)生的原因,分析當(dāng)?shù)厥欠翊嬖谡Z言生態(tài)危機(jī)? 調(diào)查研究表明：荊州作為長江沿岸的歷史文化名城,隨著經(jīng)濟(jì)的發(fā)展以及普通話的推廣,荊州年輕人在交流中更偏好使用普通話；同時,英語作為一種世界通用語言,其國際交流中的重要地位促使荊州年輕人更加重視英語的學(xué)習(xí)和使用；而荊州方言在年輕人群體中有被弱化的趨勢,在時代的劇烈變遷中,其生存和發(fā)展受到挑戰(zhàn),保護(hù)荊州地區(qū)語言多樣性勢在必行。
