認知視角下間接言語行為的轉(zhuǎn)喻研究

【摘要】:言語行為的研究一直是語用學(xué)的一個中心問題。長期以來,對言語行為,特別是對間接言語行為的生成與理解引起了語用學(xué)家的普遍關(guān)注。傳統(tǒng)的語用學(xué)理論研究在解釋間接言語行為方面遺留下了一些未能解決得問題,沒能對其做出一個令人滿意的解釋,因此亟待進一步的改進。這些理論沒有對為什么聽話人進行語用推理的速度會如此迅速,并且能毫不費力地理解說話人的意圖做出令人滿意的解釋。同時,這些理論也沒有系統(tǒng)地說明解釋間接言語行為所涉及的具體推理模式和認知理據(jù)。 隨著認知語言學(xué)的發(fā)展,越來越多的認知語言學(xué)家認為應(yīng)該從認知的視角來研究和解釋間接言語行為。Thornburg and Panther (1997)提出了言語行為轉(zhuǎn)喻理論。認知語言學(xué)里的轉(zhuǎn)喻是指在同一理想化認知模型(ICM)中,,源域為目標域提供心理通道的一種概念現(xiàn)象和認知過程。 本文主要試著從認知的角度,運用Thornburg and Panther的言語行為轉(zhuǎn)喻理論對間接言語行為進行了分析與解釋。根據(jù)他們兩位學(xué)者的觀點,概念轉(zhuǎn)喻對間接地實施言語行為是有幫助的。在一個言語行為腳本里共有三個組成部分或是階段:前段,核心段/結(jié)果段,后段。這三個組成部分里的任一成分都具有潛在的能力來轉(zhuǎn)喻地“代替”或者“指向”整個言語行為腳本。具有轉(zhuǎn)喻功能的一些關(guān)系,比如:整體與部分,原因與結(jié)果,能力與行動等有助于會話人的推理進程,并對間接言語行為的理解具有重大意義。 間接言語行為可分為規(guī)約化間接言語行為和非規(guī)約化間接言語行為。本文闡述了規(guī)約化的間接言語行與其相對應(yīng)的直接言語行為以及非規(guī)約化間接言語行為的區(qū)別,并且探討了言語行為轉(zhuǎn)喻理論對理解它們所起的重要作用。言語行為轉(zhuǎn)喻理論為間接言語行為的理解及其語用推理提供認知理據(jù)。 雖然言語行為轉(zhuǎn)喻理論較傳統(tǒng)的語用學(xué)理論而言是一個非常具有可行性和說服力的理論,它為間接言語行為的分析提供了一種新思路。但是該理論也不是沒有缺陷的。因此,該理論必須要考慮到一些語用參數(shù),那就是要在更具科學(xué)性和解釋力的命題理想化認知模式(Propositional ICM)下來分析間接言語行為。通過該認知模式,不同類型的間接指令類言語行為以及不同種類的間接請求可以被區(qū)分開來,這表明命題理想化認知模式是對言語行為轉(zhuǎn)喻理論的進一步完善,因而具有重要研究意義。本文作者試著將該模式應(yīng)用于會話對比分析并證實了這一觀點。
[Abstract]:The study of speech acts has always been a central issue in pragmatics. For a long time, the generation and understanding of speech acts, especially indirect speech acts, has attracted the general attention of pragmatics. Traditional pragmatic studies have left some unsolved problems in the interpretation of indirect speech acts and failed to make a satisfactory explanation for them. Therefore, further improvement is urgently needed. These theories do not give a satisfactory explanation as to why the hearer can reason pragmatically so quickly and can easily understand the speaker's intention. At the same time, these theories do not systematically explain the specific reasoning model and cognitive motivation involved in the interpretation of indirect speech acts. With the development of cognitive linguistics, more and more cognitive linguists think that the theory of speech act metonymy should be studied and explained from the perspective of cognition. Thornburg and Panther / 1997). Metonymy in cognitive linguistics refers to a conceptual phenomenon and a cognitive process in which the source domain provides the psychological channel for the target domain in the same idealized cognitive model (ICM). This paper attempts to analyze and explain indirect speech acts by using Thornburg and Panther's speech act metonymy theory from a cognitive perspective. According to their two scholars, conceptual metonymy is helpful to indirectly implement speech acts. There are three components or stages in a speech act script: the front, the core / the result, and the later. Each of these three components has the potential to metaphorically "replace" or "point" the entire speech act script. Some relationships with metonymy, such as whole and part, cause and result, ability and action, are helpful to the inference process of conversational person, and the understanding of indirect speech act is of great significance. Indirect speech acts can be divided into regulated indirect speech acts and unregulated indirect speech acts. This paper expounds the difference between the direct speech act and the unregulated indirect speech act of the regulated indirect speech line, and discusses the important role of the speech act metonymy theory in understanding them. The theory of speech act metonymy provides cognitive motivation for the understanding of indirect speech act and its pragmatic reasoning. Although the theory of speech act metonymy is more feasible and persuasive than the traditional pragmatic theory, it provides a new way of thinking for the analysis of indirect speech acts. But the theory is not without defects. Therefore, the theory must take into account some pragmatic parameters, that is, to analyze indirect speech acts in a more scientific and interpretive proposition idealized cognitive model (Propositional ICM). Through this cognitive model, different types of indirect directive speech acts and different types of indirect requests can be distinguished, which indicates that the proposition idealized cognitive model is a further improvement to the speech act metonymy theory. Therefore, it is of great significance to study. The author tries to apply this pattern to conversational contrastive analysis and confirms this view.
