中美大學(xué)簡介的體裁對(duì)比研究

【摘要】:隨著全球一體化的發(fā)展,我國與世界的交流空前廣泛,教育也逐漸走上了國際化的軌道。在教育國際化的新時(shí)期,國際交流成為高校工作的重點(diǎn)。中國的大學(xué)若想在世界上贏得一席之地,除了一流的學(xué)科、一流的師資和管理以外,其網(wǎng)頁上的簡介在國際交流中也起著舉足輕重的作用,其好壞直接影響著大學(xué)的形象和定位。因此研究大學(xué)簡介這類語篇的篇章布局,對(duì)中國的大學(xué)更好的走向國際化有著重要的意義。 本文從武書連2012年中國大學(xué)排行榜和2012年USNew美國大學(xué)綜合排名中分別選取前20名作為研究對(duì)象,分析并比較中美大學(xué)簡介的語步結(jié)構(gòu)。 本文的理論框架是建立在Swales (1990)對(duì)體裁的定義及Bhatia (1993)的語步分析的基礎(chǔ)之上,并結(jié)合跨文化的理論-Hofstede (1991)文化理論中的的權(quán)力距離,個(gè)體主義集體主義及不確定因素的回避程度來探討其社會(huì)文化原因。 本文采用定量分析與定性分析結(jié)合的方法對(duì)樣本分別進(jìn)行具體語步的分析,總結(jié)出其語篇結(jié)構(gòu),之后對(duì)兩個(gè)樣本的語步結(jié)構(gòu)從語步頻率、語步順序和語步長度三方面進(jìn)行對(duì)比分析,比較其異同并分析原因。研究結(jié)果表明,首先,大學(xué)簡介作為一種體裁具有完整的語步結(jié)構(gòu),,并且中美大學(xué)簡介因其相同的交際目的而在語步結(jié)構(gòu)上具有相似性,都包含介紹背景(為了使讀者簡要了解其建校歷史、學(xué)校規(guī)模、學(xué)校性質(zhì)和排名等基本情況)、展示實(shí)力(主要包括教師和學(xué)生人數(shù)、所開設(shè)的專業(yè)、學(xué)術(shù)資源、公共設(shè)施等,通過軟硬實(shí)力的展示以吸引讀者)、列舉成就(通過對(duì)其學(xué)校培養(yǎng)出的優(yōu)秀畢業(yè)生和在各項(xiàng)比賽中所獲得的獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng)來進(jìn)一步印證上一語步)等;其次,中美大學(xué)簡介因中美文化的差異而在語步頻率、語步順序和語步長度等方面存在不同。中美大學(xué)簡介體裁中語步頻率是因?yàn)橹忻牢幕屑w主義和個(gè)人主義的不同背景而異;語步順序是因?yàn)橹忻牢幕腥藗儗?duì)不確定性規(guī)避程度的高低而異;語步長度的不同是由中美文化中權(quán)力距離的高低造成的。 最后本文提出了一些寫作方面的具體建議。希望該研究能對(duì)該種文體的閱讀、寫作以及教學(xué)有所幫助,最終為我國大學(xué)在對(duì)外交流中占據(jù)有利地位做出貢獻(xiàn)。
[Abstract]:With the development of global integration, the communication between China and the world is unprecedented, and education is on the track of internationalization. In the new era of internationalization of education, international exchange has become the focus of the work of colleges and universities. If Chinese universities want to win a place in the world, in addition to first-class disciplines, first-class teachers and management, their webpages also play an important role in international exchanges. Its quality has a direct impact on the image and positioning of the university. Therefore, it is of great significance for Chinese universities to study the text layout of this kind of discourses. This paper analyzes and compares the speech step structure of the brief introduction of Chinese and American universities from the top 20 in the 2012 Chinese University rankings and the 2012 USNew American University Comprehensive rankings. The theoretical framework of this paper is based on the definition of genre by Swales / 1990 and the step analysis of Bhatia / 1993), combined with the power distance in the cross-cultural theory of Hofstede / 1991). To explore the social and cultural reasons of individualism collectivism and the degree of avoidance of uncertain factors. In this paper, the method of quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis is used to analyze the specific steps of the samples, and the textual structure of the two samples is summed up, and then the step frequency of the two samples is followed. This paper makes a comparative analysis of the sequence of steps and the length of steps, compares their similarities and differences, and analyzes the causes. The results show that, first of all, as a genre, the college profile has a complete stylistic structure, and the Chinese and American university profiles share the same communicative purpose. All include background (to give readers a brief overview of their school history, school size, nature and ranking of schools, etc.) and show their strengths (including the number of teachers and students, the specialties offered, academic resources, public facilities, etc.), Through the display of hard and soft power to attract readers, enumerating achievements (through the excellent graduates produced by his school and awards won in various competitions to further confirm the last language); second, According to the cultural differences between Chinese and American universities, there are differences in the frequency, sequence and length of steps. The frequency of Chinese language step is different because of the different background of collectivism and individualism in Chinese and American culture, and the order of language step is because of the degree of people's evading uncertainty in Chinese and American culture. The difference in the length of language step is caused by the distance of power in Chinese and American culture. Finally, this paper puts forward some specific suggestions on writing. It is hoped that this study will be helpful to the reading, writing and teaching of this style, and will eventually contribute to the favorable position of our universities in foreign exchanges.
