【摘要】：《儒林外史》是中國古典文學(xué)中有很高學(xué)術(shù)價(jià)值的寫實(shí)性小說。這部小說第一次以文人的視角和價(jià)值標(biāo)準(zhǔn)，，描繪了中國的傳統(tǒng)倫理道德、風(fēng)俗、日常生活，深深印烙著中國封建科舉時(shí)代的特征，給讀者展現(xiàn)出一幅豐富的歷史畫卷。這些豐富的文化因素尤體現(xiàn)在含量最高的文化詞語里。因此，文化詞語的準(zhǔn)確翻譯成為再現(xiàn)小說封建思想文化的重要途徑。 筆者通過研究彼得·紐馬克的語義翻譯與交際翻譯理論以及楊憲益、戴乃迭夫婦的翻譯思想，發(fā)現(xiàn)二者有相通之處：語義翻譯與交際翻譯既各有強(qiáng)調(diào)又和諧為一，不可偏執(zhí)于其一。楊氏夫婦主張想國外讀者盡可能多的傳播中國古典文化，同時(shí)也要為順利交流做好準(zhǔn)備。本文以此作為理論研究基礎(chǔ)，對《儒林外史》中的譯例進(jìn)行分析，得出以下結(jié)論：要達(dá)到文化詞英譯的最佳效果，必須仔細(xì)分析不同的文化詞所蘊(yùn)涵的典型意義，然后采用不同翻譯方法分別重點(diǎn)譯出其所蘊(yùn)涵的典型意義。由于文學(xué)作品中文化狀態(tài)的復(fù)雜性，任何單一的翻譯策略都不可能滿足翻譯需要。以哪種策略為主必然要求以另外一種方法為輔。因此，結(jié)合具體的文化語境，考慮譯文的目的等因素對客觀、科學(xué)地分析譯作的翻譯方法也是必要的。這樣的譯文才能最大限度的保留原語文化特色，確保譯語讀者能夠欣賞到原文的民族特色。通過《儒林外史》中文化詞翻譯的研究，以及其中規(guī)律性的原則或方法的探索，將對不同文化之間文學(xué)作品的相互交流與發(fā)展產(chǎn)生積極的意義，同時(shí)也為未來文化詞的翻譯提供了一條新思路。 本論文共分為五個(gè)主要部分。第一部分是引言，介紹了研究目的、研究背景、研究意義和論文的結(jié)構(gòu)。第二部分是文獻(xiàn)綜述，對《儒林外史》的文學(xué)內(nèi)涵進(jìn)行了概括，并介紹了其各種英譯尤其是楊憲益夫婦的英譯本。第三部分是本文的理論基礎(chǔ)。本文的理論指導(dǎo)是彼特紐馬克的語義和交際翻譯。筆者簡要介紹了紐馬克關(guān)于文本的三種分類類型，對各種不同類型的文本進(jìn)行了不同翻譯策略的闡釋，并總結(jié)了楊憲益夫婦的翻譯思想，為下一步論證做鋪墊。第四部分將《儒林外史》中文化負(fù)載詞分成四個(gè)方面，逐一分析了不同種類文化負(fù)載詞的英譯策略，指出其優(yōu)劣，并對不足之處給出建議。第五部分對本研究進(jìn)行了總結(jié)，并為中國古典小說的文化詞翻譯提出新的思路。
[Abstract]:"the History of Confucianism" is a realistic novel with high academic value in Chinese classical literature. For the first time, this novel depicts Chinese traditional ethics, customs and daily life from the perspective of the literati and the standard of value. Deeply engraved with the characteristics of the feudal imperial examinations of China, the readers are shown a rich historical picture. These rich cultural factors are especially reflected in the most abundant cultural words. The accurate translation of cultural words has become an important way to reproduce feudal ideology and culture in novels. By studying Peter Newmark's theory of semantic translation and communicative translation, as well as the translation thoughts of Yang Xianyi and Danaidi, the author finds that there are similarities between them: semantic translation and communicative translation are both emphasized and harmonious. Yang and his wife advocate that foreign readers should spread Chinese classical culture as much as possible, and at the same time prepare for a smooth communication. This paper takes this as the theoretical basis for the analysis of the translation cases in the History of Confucianism. The following conclusions are drawn: in order to achieve the best effect of translating cultural words into English, we must carefully analyze the typical meanings contained in different cultural words. Then different translation methods are used to focus on the typical meaning of the translation, because of the complexity of the cultural state in the literary works. Any single translation strategy can not satisfy the translation needs. Which strategy is the main one must be supplemented by another method. Therefore, considering the objective factors such as the purpose of the translation, combined with the specific cultural context, It is also necessary to scientifically analyze the translation methods in order to preserve the cultural characteristics of the source language to the maximum extent and to ensure that the target language readers can enjoy the national characteristics of the original text. The exploration of regular principles and methods will bring positive meaning to the communication and development of literary works between different cultures, and will also provide a new way of thinking for the translation of cultural words in the future. This paper is divided into five main parts. The first part is the introduction, which introduces the purpose, background, significance and structure of the paper. The second part is the literature review, which summarizes the literary connotation of "the History of Confucianism". The third part is the theoretical basis of this thesis. The theoretical guidance of this paper is Peter Newmark's semantic and communicative translation. The author briefly introduces Newmark's works. Three types of classification of Ben, This paper interprets different translation strategies of different types of texts, summarizes the translation thoughts of the couple Yang Xianyi, and paves the way for further argumentation. Part 4th divides the culture-loaded words in the History of Confucianism into four aspects. This paper analyzes the translation strategies of different culture-loaded words one by one, points out their advantages and disadvantages, and gives some suggestions on their shortcomings. Part 5th summarizes the present study and puts forward a new way of thinking for the translation of cultural words in Chinese classical novels.
