從目的論角度看電影《赤壁》的字幕翻譯

【摘要】:隨著信息時(shí)代的到來,跨文化交流越來越頻繁和重要。電影作為一種文化載體,已成為一種必不可少的文化表達(dá)方式。但由于語言差異,大部分觀眾只能通過字幕才能從視覺上、聽覺上全方位地把握外語電影的內(nèi)容和精華,欣賞其魅力。因此,電影字幕翻譯——一種新興的翻譯領(lǐng)域應(yīng)運(yùn)而生了。中國電影字幕翻譯在跨文化交際活動(dòng)中的重要性日益凸顯,尤其是中國加入世貿(mào)組織以后,越來越多的人對中國歷史感興趣,而中國電影在國際電影市場上的地位仍然薄弱。為了弘揚(yáng)中國歷史文化,增強(qiáng)中國電影在國際電影市場上的影響力,做好中國電影字幕翻譯尤為重要。 Hans Vermeer提出的“目的論”為中國的影視作品字幕翻譯提供了強(qiáng)有力的理論支撐。本文以德國功能翻譯學(xué)派的核心理論——“目的論”為理論依據(jù),以中國歷史題材電影《赤壁》為個(gè)案研究,,提出了用“目的論”來指導(dǎo)字幕翻譯的可行性,因?yàn)楦鶕?jù)不同的目的,影片采取不同的翻譯策略。本文詳細(xì)論述了譯者以“目的論”的三大原則來指導(dǎo)翻譯策略選擇的過程,通過分析案例所遵循的“目的論”的三大原則以及在“目的論”的指導(dǎo)下譯者所采取的翻譯策略,旨在讓更多的觀眾接受并欣賞該影片,從而贏得更多的票房,以便最大限度地實(shí)現(xiàn)影片在目標(biāo)語文化中的商業(yè)價(jià)值。用“目的論”指導(dǎo)電影字幕翻譯具有重要意義和價(jià)值,因?yàn)楦鶕?jù)“目的論”,電影字幕翻譯是有目的的行為,字幕翻譯過程的至高原則是該翻譯活動(dòng)本身的目的。譯文不僅僅是由譯者一人決定的,在電影字幕翻譯的過程中,譯者必須考慮目標(biāo)語觀眾的期待和需求以及導(dǎo)演真正想實(shí)現(xiàn)的目標(biāo)。希望通過本文所付出的努力,能夠加深對翻譯理論的認(rèn)識和理解,吸引更多的學(xué)者關(guān)注電影字幕翻譯這一新興的翻譯領(lǐng)域,完善該影片所采取的字幕翻譯策略,真正實(shí)現(xiàn)影片的文化和商業(yè)價(jià)值。
[Abstract]:With the arrival of the information age, cross-cultural communication is becoming more and more frequent and important. As a cultural carrier, film has become an indispensable cultural expression. It is only through subtitles that most viewers can grasp the content and essence of foreign language movies from a visual and auditory perspective and appreciate their charm. Film subtitle translation-a new field of translation has emerged. The importance of Chinese film subtitle translation in cross-cultural communication has become increasingly prominent. Especially after China's accession to the WTO, more and more people are interested in Chinese history. In order to carry forward Chinese history and culture and enhance the influence of Chinese films in the international film market, it is particularly important to do Chinese film subtitle translation well. The Skopos Theory proposed by Hans Vermeer provides a strong theoretical support for subtitle translation of Chinese film and television works. This thesis is based on the Skopos Theory, the core theory of the German functional Translation School. Taking the Chinese historical film "Red Cliff" as a case study, this paper puts forward the feasibility of using Skopos Theory to guide subtitle translation, because according to different purposes, The film adopts different translation strategies. This paper discusses in detail the process of the translator's choice of translation strategies guided by the three principles of Skopos. By analyzing the three principles of teleology followed by the case and the translation strategies adopted by the translator under the guidance of Skopos, the aim is to make the film accepted and appreciated by more audiences and thus win more box office. In order to maximize the commercial value of the film in the target culture, it is of great significance and value to use the Skopos Theory to guide the film subtitle translation, because according to the Skopos theory, the film subtitle translation is a purposeful act. The supreme principle of subtitle translation is the purpose of the translation. The translation is not determined by the translator alone, but in the process of subtitle translation. The translator must take into account the expectations and needs of the target audience and the goal the director really wants to achieve. It is hoped that through the efforts made in this paper, the translation theory can be further understood and understood. To attract more scholars to pay attention to the film subtitle translation, which is a new field of translation, to perfect the subtitle translation strategy adopted by the film, so as to realize the cultural and commercial value of the film.
