【摘要】：本文試圖對以英語為母語的美國研究生和以英語為外語的中國研究生所寫的英語碩士學(xué)位論文文獻(xiàn)綜述中的轉(zhuǎn)述語進(jìn)行對比研究。本論文以韓禮德的系統(tǒng)功能語法、斯韋爾斯的體裁分析以及海蘭的轉(zhuǎn)述動詞分類為理論框架,目的在于探求文獻(xiàn)綜述中轉(zhuǎn)述語的使用特點(diǎn),以及兩組語料在轉(zhuǎn)述類型、轉(zhuǎn)述動詞、轉(zhuǎn)述動詞時態(tài)和語態(tài)使用上的異同,從而獲得英語碩士論文寫作方面的啟示。 在研究中作者采用了定量與定性相結(jié)合的方法。在定量分析過程中,作者對轉(zhuǎn)述語的頻率進(jìn)行統(tǒng)計(jì),得出一些數(shù)據(jù),形成圖表,以此來進(jìn)行對比分析,從而找出兩者之間的異同。作者采用定性分析,目的在于闡述轉(zhuǎn)述語的功能以及解釋說明兩組語料中轉(zhuǎn)述語使用方面存在差異的原因。 本論文的研究語料共包括50篇文獻(xiàn)綜述,由兩部分組成:25篇是由以英語為母語的研究生所作的文獻(xiàn)綜述,另外25篇是由以英語為外語的中國研究生所作的文獻(xiàn)綜述。其中前者選于PQDD上美國著名大學(xué)碩士研究生學(xué)位論文,后者源于中國知網(wǎng)上中國著名大學(xué)英語專業(yè)碩士畢業(yè)論文。這50篇文獻(xiàn)綜述的作者均畢業(yè)于2005至2009年期間(包括2005年和2009年)。 本文對比研究的結(jié)果顯示兩組語料在轉(zhuǎn)述語使用方面既存在合理的相似之處,也存在顯著的差異�？偟膩碚f,國外語料中轉(zhuǎn)述語的數(shù)量比國內(nèi)語料中轉(zhuǎn)述語的數(shù)量大。作者進(jìn)行具體的分析,結(jié)果發(fā)現(xiàn):在轉(zhuǎn)述語類型方面,以英語為母語的學(xué)生偏好使用非作者嵌入型而中國學(xué)生則喜歡使用作者嵌入型,這意味著中國學(xué)生更加注重被轉(zhuǎn)述信息的作者而以英語為母語的學(xué)生注重被轉(zhuǎn)述的信息;在轉(zhuǎn)述動詞方面,兩組語料中研究動詞和語篇動詞的使用頻率較高而中國學(xué)生更偏向使用研究動詞和認(rèn)知動詞,國外語料中轉(zhuǎn)述動詞的使用數(shù)量和種類比國內(nèi)語料多,這說明以英語為母語的學(xué)生在轉(zhuǎn)述動詞的使用方面比中國學(xué)生更加靈活和熟練;在轉(zhuǎn)述動詞的時態(tài)方面,兩組語料中一般現(xiàn)在式的使用頻率最高,而在中國學(xué)生所作的論文中一般現(xiàn)在式占絕對統(tǒng)治地位;關(guān)于轉(zhuǎn)述動詞的語態(tài)方面,以英語為母語的學(xué)生所作的文獻(xiàn)綜述中被動語態(tài)的使用頻率明顯高于中國學(xué)生所作的文獻(xiàn)綜述。轉(zhuǎn)述動詞時態(tài)和語態(tài)方面的研究結(jié)果表明中國學(xué)生偏向使用一般現(xiàn)在式和主動語態(tài)目的在于體現(xiàn)他們對被轉(zhuǎn)述作者或信息的主觀態(tài)度,從而建立自己在學(xué)術(shù)界的地位。 本文通過對比研究嘗試對文獻(xiàn)綜述中轉(zhuǎn)述語的研究提供一種新的見解。本文能夠幫助中國英語學(xué)習(xí)者在學(xué)術(shù)論文寫作中更好地理解和運(yùn)用轉(zhuǎn)述語,同時也對中國英語學(xué)術(shù)論文寫作教學(xué)提供了有益的參考。
