基于功能目的論的漢語新詞英譯的策略研究

【摘要】:社會(huì)的飛速發(fā)展促使新生事物層出不窮。體現(xiàn)在語言上,就是大量新詞新語的應(yīng)運(yùn)而生。漢語新詞承載了一定的當(dāng)代社會(huì)內(nèi)涵和中國文化特色,己成為語言研究領(lǐng)域的重要研究對(duì)象,雖然漢語新詞翻譯工作也引起了翻譯界學(xué)者的廣泛關(guān)注,取得巨大成績,但仍存在著諸多問題,如誤譯,機(jī)械直譯,胡譯,文化漏譯等。究其原因,主要是因?yàn)槿狈茖W(xué)有效的理論指導(dǎo),忽視了漢語新詞翻譯與其目的之間的聯(lián)系。針對(duì)以上問題,本研究在翻譯功能目的論的指導(dǎo)下,重新梳理研究大量翻譯實(shí)例,總結(jié)出漢語新詞英譯應(yīng)遵循的兩個(gè)主要目的:一是讓譯文符合目的語讀者的語言習(xí)慣,使其更好地理解譯文所傳達(dá)的內(nèi)容;二是使譯文保留中國特色,傳播特色中國文化。鑒于此目的,漢語新詞英譯的實(shí)踐需要遵循翻譯三原則:內(nèi)涵準(zhǔn)確性原則,目的語習(xí)慣性原則和讀者接受性原則。結(jié)合翻譯目的與翻譯原則,作者又提出工具型翻譯策略和文獻(xiàn)型翻譯策略。對(duì)于目的一,工具型翻譯策略比較合適,包括等功能翻譯和異功能翻譯。對(duì)于目的二,文獻(xiàn)型翻譯策略應(yīng)首先被考慮,大體包括逐詞翻譯,直譯,直譯加注釋和異化翻譯。翻譯目的決定翻譯方法策略。通過研究發(fā)現(xiàn)如果譯者傾向于傳播中國當(dāng)今文化,文獻(xiàn)型翻譯策略可以從保留新詞形式,內(nèi)容或情景角度來實(shí)現(xiàn)宣傳源語言文化特色的目的。但如果譯者注重目的語讀者對(duì)譯文的理解力和接受力,就應(yīng)采取工具型翻譯策略。因此,作者總結(jié)出功能目的論能夠有效地科學(xué)地指導(dǎo)漢語新詞的英譯,為類似的翻譯實(shí)踐提供了新的理論視角,將為翻譯工作者進(jìn)一步提供借鑒。
