本文是一篇英譯漢翻譯實(shí)踐報(bào)告,源文本選自英國(guó)學(xué)者克拉克(J.J.Clarke)的《西方之道——道家思想的西化》(以下簡(jiǎn)稱(chēng)《西方之道》)。作為一部介紹道家思想在西方的傳播情況的學(xué)術(shù)文獻(xiàn),該書(shū)呈現(xiàn)了西方學(xué)者對(duì)道家思想的認(rèn)知與反思。在語(yǔ)言層面,源文本既有學(xué)術(shù)文獻(xiàn)的固有特點(diǎn),如句法上善用長(zhǎng)句、被動(dòng)句,以求論述客觀;也有因其研究?jī)?nèi)容不同而具備的特征,如詞匯上善用評(píng)價(jià)性詞匯。文化層面,源文本含有大量哲學(xué)術(shù)語(yǔ)、道家術(shù)語(yǔ)、典故等或明或暗的引用。交際層面,源文本運(yùn)用了隱喻及重復(fù)的表達(dá)方式,以使論說(shuō)能清楚曉暢。生態(tài)翻譯學(xué)認(rèn)為,翻譯是譯者適應(yīng)原文本生態(tài)環(huán)境和譯者對(duì)譯文進(jìn)行適應(yīng)性選擇的交替循環(huán)過(guò)程。結(jié)合源文本特點(diǎn),本報(bào)告以生態(tài)翻譯學(xué)為理論依據(jù),采取“三維轉(zhuǎn)換”的翻譯策略,從語(yǔ)言、文化、交際三個(gè)維度,對(duì)一些典型案例進(jìn)行分析,總結(jié)了一些可行的翻譯方法。具體而言,語(yǔ)言維層面,將原文中西方漢學(xué)家對(duì)道家的評(píng)價(jià)性詞匯轉(zhuǎn)換為漢語(yǔ)中的四字詞;采取分譯的方法處理論述長(zhǎng)句;將被動(dòng)句轉(zhuǎn)換為主動(dòng)句,使譯文在保留原文含義的基礎(chǔ)上更自然流暢。文化維層面,采用明晰化的方式處理隱含的道家經(jīng)典典故;通過(guò)追溯哲學(xué)術(shù)語(yǔ)的詞源含義,適應(yīng)性地選擇約定俗...
