翻譯研究的“文化轉(zhuǎn)向”超越了將原文和譯文進(jìn)行簡單對比的層面,文化學(xué)派更多地思考不同時(shí)期的價(jià)值觀、意識(shí)形態(tài)、體制等因素對翻譯研究的影響。勒菲弗爾認(rèn)為,翻譯是一種改寫,改寫即操縱,是為特定意識(shí)形態(tài)服務(wù)的手段。但也應(yīng)意識(shí)到,翻譯在受意識(shí)形態(tài)操縱的同時(shí),也是一種新文化、新思想的催化劑,從而反作用于意識(shí)形態(tài)。一方面,目的語意識(shí)形態(tài)無形地影響和操縱著翻譯實(shí)踐,譯者為了滿足目的語讀者的文化意識(shí)和審美取向,往往會(huì)對翻譯文本做出一定程度的改寫;另一方面,譯者看似受到目的語文化的種種制約,實(shí)際上也會(huì)在個(gè)人意識(shí)形態(tài)的影響下,通過翻譯實(shí)踐對意識(shí)形態(tài)產(chǎn)生反作用。本文以潘光旦譯《性心理學(xué)》為個(gè)案,試圖揭示意識(shí)形態(tài)是如何操縱同性戀話語的翻譯實(shí)踐的,以及潘光旦如何在翻譯實(shí)踐中引入本土知識(shí)與外來知識(shí)進(jìn)行比較,從而補(bǔ)充乃至挑戰(zhàn)五四運(yùn)動(dòng)后盛行的西方同性戀性話語,呈現(xiàn)出未曾被察覺的中國本土同性戀面貌。
