本報(bào)告選取袁庭棟先生所著《成都街巷志》上卷為翻譯研究對象,內(nèi)容涉及與街巷相關(guān)的名人故事和歷史遺跡的翻譯。作者袁廷棟在個(gè)人研究和史料的基礎(chǔ)上客觀記敘了老成都的街巷故事,為了讓英文讀者更準(zhǔn)確的理解原文,本文以功能對等理論為指導(dǎo),從詞匯對等、句法對等、篇章對等、文體對等四個(gè)方面探索歷史文獻(xiàn)的翻譯策略,解決中國歷史文獻(xiàn)英譯的難點(diǎn),盡可能使譯文達(dá)到功能對等,提高譯文的可接受性。報(bào)告共分為四章:第一章分析源文本,確定文本類型和語言特征。第二章詳述翻譯過程中的三個(gè)步驟。第三章概述功能對等四個(gè)層次。第四章舉證研究功能對等理論在歷史文獻(xiàn)翻譯的適用性。最后總結(jié)研究意義、研究局限和建議。本報(bào)告旨在為以信息型為主的歷史文獻(xiàn)英譯提供可操作的翻譯策略,為成都街巷志和巴蜀文化的相關(guān)翻譯和外宣提供借鑒,促進(jìn)中西文化交流和巴蜀文化在國外的研究。
