當(dāng)今社會,隨著各個(gè)國家和民族之間的交流逐步加深,文化的交流與融合也越來越頻繁。而在此背景下,仍然存在一種傳統(tǒng)的文化交流方式,即文學(xué)。該翻譯實(shí)踐報(bào)告以英國作家喬喬·莫伊斯的歷史小說《贈星者》的前三章為翻譯材料,以美國翻譯理論家奈達(dá)的功能對等理論為指導(dǎo)依據(jù),根據(jù)筆者漢譯《贈星者》的實(shí)踐,探討功能對等理論在歷史小說翻譯中的應(yīng)用。該書作者喬喬·莫伊斯基于美國歷史,用小說的形式將大蕭條時(shí)期“馬背上的圖書館”這一歷史再現(xiàn)。小說描寫了那個(gè)時(shí)代背景下,不屈不撓的女性在特殊時(shí)期所表現(xiàn)的追求知識的堅(jiān)毅。本翻譯實(shí)踐報(bào)告將翻譯理論運(yùn)用至實(shí)踐中,對詞義對等和句法對等的具體例子進(jìn)行了分析,探索了相關(guān)翻譯策略,使譯文語言更加符合目標(biāo)讀者的閱讀習(xí)慣。小說的語言豐富,情節(jié)細(xì)膩,人物形象生動,而歷史小說又要基于歷史真實(shí)性,因此,在翻譯小說實(shí)踐中,精準(zhǔn)再現(xiàn)原文內(nèi)容尤其重要,以實(shí)現(xiàn)功能對等的目的。本篇翻譯報(bào)告共分為五個(gè)部分:翻譯任務(wù)介紹、理論框架、翻譯過程、案例分析和結(jié)論。筆者希望以此報(bào)告能為類似文本的翻譯和研究提供助益。
