《翻譯與性別—女權時代的翻譯》第三、四章英漢翻譯實踐報告

【摘要】：本翻譯材料文本選自路易斯·馮·弗洛圖(LuisevonFlotow)編寫的《翻譯與性別-女權主義時代的翻譯》(TRANSLATION AND GENDER-Translating in the“Era of Feminism”)的第三章和第四章,初次出版于1997年,由St.Jerome Publishing和University ofOttawa Press聯(lián)合出版,全書共114頁。第三章和第四章約1.8萬英文單詞。本書是一部信息型學術專著,討論了女權主義在翻譯中的實踐與發(fā)展歷程,并闡述了女權主義下的翻譯觀點。筆者在紐馬克的翻譯文本類型理論指導下完成翻譯實踐,又借助于語義翻譯和交際翻譯策略,在撰寫本篇翻譯報告時對所選文本在漢譯過程中出現的一些問題分別舉例分析,如:(1)大量法語人名翻譯;(2)原文中長句較多且句式結構復雜;(3)英文詩歌的翻譯。筆者根據問題提出相應解決策略:(1)在翻譯法語人名時,筆者首先查閱《世界人名翻譯大辭典》(中國對外翻譯出版公司,1993),對于有其他未能在辭典中查到的人名,筆者根據符合行業(yè)標準原則等四大原則進行翻譯。(2)對于文中的長句,筆者多將其拆分為數個小分句,將長句中的名詞或轉換為動詞或增譯動詞,使長句符合漢語的行文習慣;(3)對于詩歌翻譯,筆者在紐馬克交際翻譯方法指導下盡力統(tǒng)一韻律,并使讀者正確理解意義。本篇翻譯實踐報告旨在,第一,為更系統(tǒng)、更詳盡、更準確地了解女權主義及其翻譯理論提供參考,促進國內外學術交流和信息傳播。并呼吁社會重視女性,提高女性的社會地位;第二,通過翻譯實踐掌握女權主義的相關術語,了解學術型文本的行文風格及措辭。將所學的紐馬克文本類型理論應用在具體的實踐活動中,可為筆者日后翻譯實踐積累經驗。
[Abstract]:This translation material is selected from chapters III and IV of Translation and gender-Feminist Translation (TRANSLATION AND GENDER-Translating in the "Era of Feminism", prepared by Louis von Frotu (LuisevonFlotow). It was first published in 1997 and co-published by St.Jerome Publishing and University ofOttawa Press. The book has a total of 114 pages. Chapter three and chapter four are about 18000 English words. This book is an informative academic monograph, which discusses the practice and development of feminism in translation, and expounds the translation point of view under feminism. Under the guidance of Newmark's translation text type theory, the author completes the translation practice, and with the help of semantic translation and communicative translation strategies, analyzes some problems in the process of Chinese translation of the selected text, such as: (1) a large number of French name translation; (2) there are many long sentences in the original text and the sentence structure is complex; and (3) the translation of English poetry. The author puts forward the corresponding solving strategies according to the problem: (1) when translating French names, the author first refers to the Dictionary of World name Translation (China Foreign Translation and Publishing Company, 1993). For other names that have not been found in the dictionary, the author translates them according to the four principles that conform to the principles of industry standards. (2) for the long sentences in this paper, the author divides them into several small sentences. Convert the nouns in the long sentence into verbs or add verbs, so that the long sentence conforms to the writing habits of Chinese. (3) for poetry translation, under the guidance of Newmark's communicative translation method, the author tries his best to unify the rhythm and make the readers understand the meaning correctly. The purpose of this translation practice report is to provide reference for a more systematic, detailed and accurate understanding of feminism and its translation theory, and to promote academic exchange and information dissemination at home and abroad. It also calls on the society to attach importance to women and improve their social status; second, to master the relevant terms of feminism through translation practice, and to understand the writing style and wording of academic texts. The application of Newmark's text type theory to concrete practical activities can accumulate experience for the author's translation practice in the future.
