【摘要】：19世紀(jì)上半葉,在華外國(guó)人創(chuàng)辦的旨在向外國(guó)讀者譯介嶺南風(fēng)土人情和中國(guó)社會(huì)狀況的英文報(bào)刊中出現(xiàn)大量的嶺南文化負(fù)載詞匯。以在華傳教士為主的外報(bào)作者群體在編纂英華字典和辦報(bào)過(guò)程中針對(duì)嶺南文化負(fù)載詞形成了"粵語(yǔ)音譯+意譯(+副文本)"的譯介模式,即先給出詞條的粵語(yǔ)羅馬化注音,再做出英語(yǔ)意譯,有時(shí)在詞條后插入副文本—圍繞該詞條的中西文化差異之評(píng)論。這樣的語(yǔ)用翻譯模式達(dá)到了預(yù)期的傳播效果,為現(xiàn)當(dāng)代嶺南文化和中國(guó)傳統(tǒng)文化對(duì)外譯介提供了借鑒。
[Abstract]:In the first half of the 19th century, a large number of Lingnan cultural loaded words appeared in English newspapers and periodicals founded by foreigners in China to translate Lingnan customs and social conditions to foreign readers. In the process of compiling English-Chinese dictionaries and running newspapers, the group of foreign newspaper authors, mainly missionaries in China, formed the translation model of "Cantonese transliteration free translation (subtext)" in the process of compiling English-Chinese dictionaries and running newspapers, that is, first gave the Romanization phonetic notes of Cantonese. Then make English free translation, sometimes insert a subtext after the entry-comments on the cultural differences between China and the West. This pragmatic translation model achieves the expected communication effect and provides a reference for the translation and introduction of modern and contemporary Lingnan culture and Chinese traditional culture.
