【摘要】：1898年,《昌言報》連載曾廣銓采譯、章炳麟筆述的《斯賓塞爾文集》,包含《論進境之理》《論禮儀》兩文。二者均出自斯賓塞《論文集:科學(xué)的,政治的和推斷的》,原篇名分別為《論進步:其法則和原因》《禮儀與風尚》。太炎忹譯《斯賓塞爾文集》是社會進化學(xué)說早期影響于中國知識界的關(guān)鍵事件。之前學(xué)界未將《斯賓塞爾文集》所據(jù)原作底本當作一個學(xué)術(shù)問題予以關(guān)注,故所據(jù)斯氏原作與太炎譯著之真實底本相比,有或多或少的差繆。將太炎譯文與斯賓塞原作對讀,可最終確認:經(jīng)斯賓塞本人同意,曾在美國發(fā)行,1868年由英國倫敦Williams and Norgate公司引入重印的"鉛印版"《論文集:科學(xué)的,政治的和推斷的》第一卷,乃太炎譯《斯賓塞爾文集》的原作底本。斯賓塞本人前后期的思想有所變化,這體現(xiàn)在不同時期出版的斯氏著作中。因此,確定太炎譯著的原作底本,為進一步剖析斯賓塞思想究竟在哪些層面以及如何影響了章太炎,乃至深入研究晚清相關(guān)思想史,奠定了扎實的立論基礎(chǔ)。
[Abstract]:In 1898, the Changyan newspaper serialized Zeng Guangquan's translation, Zhang Binglin's selected works of Spencer, including the Theory of entry and Etiquette. Both from Spencer's Collection of essays: scientific, political, and inferred. The original title is "on Progress: its Law and causes", "Etiquette and Fashion". Taiyan's translation of Spencer's works is a key event that the theory of social evolution affected the Chinese intellectual world in the early stage. The original works of Spencer's works were not regarded as an academic problem before, so the original works of Spencer's works are more or less inferior than the true ones of Taiyan's translated works. The translation of Taiyan was read against Spencer's original, and it was finally confirmed that it was released in the United States with the consent of Spencer himself and reprinted in 1868 by Williams and Norgate, London, UK, of the Proceedings: scientific, political, and inferred. It is the original book of Taiyan's translation of Spencer's works. Spencer's thoughts changed in his previous and later periods, which were reflected in his works published in different periods. Therefore, the determination of the original version of Taiyan's translated works lays a solid foundation for the further analysis of what levels and how Spencer's thought affected Zhang Taiyan, and even for the further study of the history of relevant thoughts in the late Qing Dynasty.
