【摘要】：多模態(tài)符號充斥于我們生活的方方面面,如今也有越來越多的電子詞典以多種模態(tài)進(jìn)行釋義。圖片釋義是其中最直觀的一種形式,也是現(xiàn)在大多數(shù)詞典中必不可缺的釋義方式。然而,雖然有許多研究承認(rèn)圖片釋義的重要性,卻鮮有研究闡述多模態(tài)語篇中圖片與文字的關(guān)系。本文基于KressLeeuwen視覺語法和MartinecSalway構(gòu)建的圖文關(guān)系理論,對兩部高階英語電子詞典(《朗文當(dāng)代英語詞典第五版+》IOS版和《牛津高階英語電子詞典第九版》IOS版)中帶圖片釋義的詞目從圖文位置和圖文意義兩方面進(jìn)行多模態(tài)分析,旨在建立圖文關(guān)系模型,為今后電子詞典的編纂和設(shè)計提供借鑒。為此,要解決三個循序漸進(jìn)的研究問題:1.高階英語電子詞典中現(xiàn)有的與用戶所需要的帶圖片釋義的詞目分配情況如何,二者是否仍有差距?2.現(xiàn)有高階英語電子詞典中圖文關(guān)系如何,詞典在多模態(tài)釋義時是否存在圖文關(guān)系問題?3.基于前兩個問題,如何建立一個圖文關(guān)系模型以改善現(xiàn)狀?本文使用了實證研究、對比研究和歸納分析的研究方法,根據(jù)LDOCEP和OALD9中帶圖片釋義詞目的圖文關(guān)系,嘗試構(gòu)建出了兩個電子詞典圖文關(guān)系模型。前者的圖片釋義傾向于直接解釋詞目,直接展現(xiàn)物體或動作的形狀、顏色等外觀信息;而后者側(cè)重于在圖片釋義中展示背景,突出詞目所處的環(huán)境。兩種圖文關(guān)系模型在圖文位置和意義層面各不相同,卻都以多模態(tài)的方式解釋了詞匯。這兩種圖文關(guān)系模型可為今后高階英語電子詞典的編纂與設(shè)計提供借鑒。
[Abstract]:Multimodal symbols are ubiquitous in all aspects of our lives, and nowadays more and more electronic dictionaries interpret them in multiple modes. Picture interpretation is one of the most intuitionistic forms, and it is also an indispensable way in most dictionaries nowadays. However, although many studies have acknowledged the importance of picture interpretation, few studies have expounded the relationship between pictures and words in multimodal discourse. This paper is based on Kres Leeuwen's visual grammar and Martin Salway's theory of graphic and textual relations. Two advanced English electronic dictionaries (the fifth edition of Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English > iOS edition and the 9th edition of Oxford higher order English Dictionary > iOS edition) are analyzed in terms of image location and text meaning. The purpose of this paper is to establish a model of graph-text relation and to provide reference for the compilation and design of electronic dictionaries in the future. To this end, we must solve three progressive research problems: 1. What is the distribution of terms with image interpretation in higher order English electronic dictionaries, and whether there is still a gap between them? What is the relationship between graph and text in the current higher order English electronic dictionary and whether there is a relationship between picture and text in the multimodal interpretation of the dictionary? Based on the first two problems, how to establish a graph-text relationship model to improve the current situation? In this paper, we use the methods of empirical, comparative and inductive analysis, and try to construct two electronic lexicon models according to the graphic and textual relationships with picture meanings in LDOCEP and OALD9. The former tends to explain the words directly and display the appearance information such as the shape and color of the object or action directly, while the latter focuses on displaying the background in the interpretation of the picture and highlighting the environment in which the word is located. The two models are different in terms of location and meaning, but both explain the vocabulary in a multi-modal manner. These two models can be used for reference in the compilation and design of higher-order English electronic dictionaries in the future.
