【摘要】：中國(guó)最經(jīng)典的四大名著之一《紅樓夢(mèng)》在現(xiàn)代社會(huì)中仍是典范。在書(shū)中,古典詩(shī)詞占很大篇幅,而詩(shī)詞中又包含了中國(guó)傳統(tǒng)文化的很多方面。該書(shū)最好的外文譯本是大衛(wèi)霍克斯翻譯的《石頭記》和楊憲益翻譯的《紅樓夢(mèng)》。這兩個(gè)版本都有自己的主旨。許多學(xué)者使用不同的理論比較這兩個(gè)版本。目的論是一個(gè)重要的德國(guó)功能主義理論。所有的翻譯行為都是有意義的。翻譯的目的決定使用的翻譯策略�；艨怂购蜅顟椧娴姆g目的不同,所以他們?cè)诜g時(shí)采取了不同的翻譯策略。本文以目的論為框架,研究這兩個(gè)不同版本的詩(shī)詞翻譯。本文將楊憲益和霍克斯英譯本中詩(shī)詞文化元素的翻譯進(jìn)行對(duì)比研究。在對(duì)比中,試圖發(fā)現(xiàn)楊憲益與霍克斯是如何克服文化差異,將中國(guó)傳統(tǒng)元素翻譯為英文的。并且為了配合他們的翻譯目的,他們的翻譯策略分別是什么。文化差異使翻譯的過(guò)程變得復(fù)雜。詩(shī)詞的特有形式,導(dǎo)致詩(shī)詞文化元素的翻譯更加復(fù)雜。譯者在翻譯具有不同文化的作品時(shí)需要克服文化的壁壘,將自有的本國(guó)文化轉(zhuǎn)化為異國(guó)人所接受的形式。這需要譯者對(duì)兩國(guó)文化有足夠的理解,并且能夠很好的把兩國(guó)文化交融,找到文化中相通的部分,更好地引起讀者的共鳴,使其在異國(guó)文化中找到和自己本國(guó)文化里一樣的認(rèn)同感和歸屬感。本文通過(guò)探討文化元素翻譯,試圖找到一些翻譯策略來(lái)解決文化障礙,這將有利于向世界傳播中國(guó)傳統(tǒng)文化,從而達(dá)到跨文化交際的目的。本文一共分為五個(gè)章節(jié)。第一章介紹本文的目的與意義。第二章是文獻(xiàn)綜述部分,闡述了《紅樓夢(mèng)》詩(shī)詞文化的范疇,國(guó)內(nèi)外目的論研究現(xiàn)狀,以及國(guó)內(nèi)外《紅樓夢(mèng)》詩(shī)詞翻譯研究現(xiàn)狀。第三章是本文的理論框架,目的論的三原則,翻譯綱要以及歸化與異化。第四章是兩個(gè)《紅樓夢(mèng)》英譯本中詩(shī)詞文化元素翻譯的比較,從對(duì)佛教文化元素,詩(shī)詞中引用的中國(guó)典故文化元素,詩(shī)文化元素進(jìn)行比較。通過(guò)本章的對(duì)比,試圖研究楊憲益與霍克斯如何根據(jù)不同的翻譯目的采取不同的翻譯策略。最后一章陳述了本文的主要發(fā)現(xiàn),以及研究的局限。
[Abstract]:A Dream of Red Mansions, one of China's four most classic masterpieces, is still a model in modern society.In the book, classical poetry accounts for a lot of space, and poetry contains many aspects of traditional Chinese culture.The best foreign translation of the book is David Hawks' Stone and Yang Xianyi's A Dream of Red Mansions.Both versions have their own gist.Many scholars use different theories to compare the two versions.Skopos theory is an important German functionalism theory.All translation activities are meaningful.The purpose of translation determines the translation strategy to be used.Hawks and Yang Xianyi have different translation purposes, so they adopt different translation strategies.Based on Skopos theory, this paper studies the translation of these two different versions of poetry.This paper makes a contrastive study on the translation of cultural elements of poetry between Yang Xianyi and Hawkes.In contrast, the author tries to find out how Yang Xianyi and Hawkes overcome cultural differences and translate Chinese traditional elements into English.And in order to suit their translation purposes, what are their translation strategies.Cultural differences complicate the process of translation.The unique form of poetry makes the translation of cultural elements more complicated.In translating works with different cultures, translators should overcome cultural barriers and transform their own cultures into forms accepted by foreigners.This requires the translator to have a good understanding of the two cultures, and to be able to blend the two cultures well, find the common parts of the culture, and better resonate with the readers.To find the same sense of identity and belonging in a foreign culture as in one's own.By exploring the translation of cultural elements, this paper tries to find some translation strategies to solve the cultural barriers, which will help to spread Chinese traditional culture to the world and achieve the purpose of cross-cultural communication.This paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter introduces the purpose and significance of this paper.The second chapter is the literature review part, which expounds the category of poetry culture, the current situation of teleological studies at home and abroad, and the current situation of translation studies of poems in Dream of Red Mansions at home and abroad.Chapter three is the theoretical framework of the thesis, the three principles of Skopos theory, the outline of translation, and domestication and alienation.The fourth chapter is a comparison of the translation of the cultural elements of poetry in two English versions of A Dream of Red Mansions, comparing the elements of Buddhist culture, the elements of Chinese allusions and the elements of poetic culture cited in poetry.Through the comparison of this chapter, this paper attempts to study how Yang Xianyi and Hawkes adopt different translation strategies according to different translation purposes.The last chapter describes the main findings of this paper, as well as the limitations of the study.
