【摘要】：《中國雜志》1927年刊登了英國漢學(xué)家文仁亭的譯評(píng)《中文翻譯》,文中有英國著名外交官與漢學(xué)家威妥瑪?shù)摹都t樓夢(mèng)》英譯本片段。迄今,這段重要的史料在學(xué)界鮮被提及,也未有學(xué)者對(duì)其中的威妥瑪譯文進(jìn)行研究。本文首先介紹文仁亭與其譯評(píng)以及威妥瑪?shù)闹饕绞论E,進(jìn)而參考《紅樓夢(mèng)》喬利譯文與霍克思譯文描述和解讀威氏譯文,在此基礎(chǔ)上審視和評(píng)價(jià)了具有爭(zhēng)議性的《紅樓夢(mèng)》威妥瑪譯本,以期豐富《紅樓夢(mèng)》英譯史和《紅樓夢(mèng)》翻譯研究。
[Abstract]:In 1927, the Chinese magazine published a translation review of British Sinologist Wen Renting. There are English translations of the famous British diplomat and Sinologist Wade's Dream of the Red Mansions. So far, this important historical material has rarely been mentioned in academic circles. No scholars have studied the Wade translation. This paper first introduces Wen Renting and his comments, as well as Wade's main life stories, and then refers to the description and interpretation of Wickers translation by Jolly translation and Hawkes translation of A Dream of Red Mansions. On the basis of this, the author examines and evaluates the controversial version of the Dream of Red Mansions, Wade, in order to enrich the history of English translation of A Dream of Red Mansions and the study of translation of A Dream of Red Mansions.
