本文是一篇英漢翻譯實踐報告,所選翻譯文本選自奧皮·昂川特(Oppi Untracht)撰寫的《珠寶概念與工藝》一書中的第一章與第二章。該書作者在2,000年代表美國工藝委員會被授予終生成就獎,此外他也是北美金匠委員會的榮譽(yù)成員。本書對珠寶歷史及珠寶制作方式,及珠寶制作的各種所需材料,加工技術(shù)及制造過程等做了詳細(xì)的介紹。所譯文本內(nèi)容主要講述了珠寶發(fā)展史及珠寶制作工具等內(nèi)容。所譯文本為科技類文本,也屬于信息型文本�？萍加⒄Z文體行文嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)且規(guī)范、內(nèi)容描述客觀且清晰,用詞規(guī)范且存在大量專業(yè)術(shù)語。同時信息型文本語言邏輯性強(qiáng),重點關(guān)注文本內(nèi)容本身,譯者要將這些內(nèi)容用簡潔明了的語言將原文信息傳遞給讀者。因此對譯者的譯前、譯中、譯后要求都極高。本次翻譯實踐難點主要包括三個層面即詞匯、句法,以及語篇。詞匯方面的難點主要有專業(yè)術(shù)語、熟詞僻意,及專有名詞的翻譯;句法方面的翻譯難點主要為長難句,定語從句的翻譯,科技英語文體為了說明一個事物,通常在句子中插入許多修飾成分,給譯者帶來許多理解和翻譯困難;語篇層面的翻譯難點主要有代詞的大量使用,及句子間隱藏邏輯關(guān)系的再現(xiàn)。譯者,為了達(dá)到科技類文本及信息型文本的翻譯要求,...
