本文選取Slippery Slope:Europe’s Troubled Future(《滑坡:歐洲的未來問題重重》)一書中第一章和第六章的部分內(nèi)容作為翻譯材料,探討其中語篇銜接手段的處理�！痘�:歐洲的未來問題重重》一書全面展現(xiàn)了二十一世紀歐洲的概況,不僅介紹了歐洲現(xiàn)存的各種問題,也提到了歐洲未來的發(fā)展機遇。為了將書中的信息內(nèi)容進行有序組織,各類銜接手段必不可少,因為正是借助這些銜接手段,語篇內(nèi)的各個部分才能彼此聯(lián)系起來,構成一個語義整體。因此,能否翻譯處理好原文中的銜接手段將直接影響到譯文的質(zhì)量。常用的銜接手段包括指稱、替代、省略、連接和詞匯銜接。在此次翻譯材料中,指稱、替代、連接以及詞匯銜接這四類銜接手段運用得比較多,因此本文著重分析如何翻譯處理這四類銜接手段。事實上,不同的銜接手段其實現(xiàn)銜接功能的方式各不相同,所以,在翻譯時,要考慮到每種銜接手段自身的特點以及特定的語境。誠然,在不損害譯文準確性和可讀性的情況下,可以選擇保留原有銜接模式。但是,鑒于英漢兩種語言各自的語言特色及其在銜接模式上的差異,譯者不應機械地照搬原文的銜接模式,而是應該靈活運用各類翻譯方法,如詞語復現(xiàn)、省譯、...
