傳統(tǒng)的敘事理論屬于結(jié)構(gòu)主義的范疇,研究文本內(nèi)部的敘事結(jié)構(gòu)和規(guī)律。隨著西方“泛敘事”思潮的興起,敘事呈現(xiàn)跨學(xué)科趨勢,開始關(guān)注社會歷史語境與敘事結(jié)構(gòu)之間的關(guān)系,而蒙娜·貝克就是其中的代表之一。2006年,她在《翻譯與沖突:敘事性闡釋》一書中創(chuàng)造性地將來自社會學(xué)和交際學(xué)的敘事理論與翻譯研究結(jié)合起來,認(rèn)為翻譯是一種再敘事,強(qiáng)調(diào)翻譯對文化交流、政治局勢產(chǎn)生的重要作用。在翻譯過程中,譯者、出版社、編輯和其他參與者根據(jù)敘事立場,通過不同的策略來強(qiáng)化、削弱或改變隱含在原話語中的某些內(nèi)容,重新調(diào)整敘事特征,從而實現(xiàn)在目標(biāo)語文本中的敘事建構(gòu)。本文在蒙娜·貝克敘事理論的指導(dǎo)下,研究《家》沙博理譯本中采取的敘事建構(gòu)策略,分析翻譯在敘事建構(gòu)中產(chǎn)生的效果和作用,探討譯本敘事與社會現(xiàn)實敘事之間的動態(tài)關(guān)系,進(jìn)而揭示建構(gòu)行為背后的深層動因。通過研究,本文發(fā)現(xiàn)在宏觀上,出版社立足于西方語境,選擇沙博理這位具有雙重身份的外來譯者翻譯《家》,引起西方讀者的閱讀興趣,同時譯者通過在譯文中對“叛逆”主題的再現(xiàn),引發(fā)讀者共鳴,實現(xiàn)了譯本的時空建構(gòu);在具體的翻譯過程中,譯者通過刪除不利信息,增加解釋性和表明立場的內(nèi)容,加深了讀者的理...
