譯介學(xué)視角下《紅高粱家族》在美國的“翻譯”和“傳播”

【摘要】:自上世紀(jì)80年代,中國學(xué)術(shù)界就不斷發(fā)出文化"走出去"的聲音,但現(xiàn)實(shí)表明,中國文學(xué)"走出去"的現(xiàn)狀不容樂觀。在莫言眾多的作品中,其長篇小說《紅高粱家族》是中國文學(xué)譯介的成功典范之一。1993年,謝天振教授的專著《譯介學(xué)》得以出版,這標(biāo)志著這一全新的跨學(xué)科理論正式被提出。這一理論并不旨在研究翻譯技巧以及翻譯語言方面的問題,而把翻譯看作是一種譯介活動(dòng),一種文化交流的活動(dòng),注重翻譯過程中的"創(chuàng)造性叛逆"的研究,同時(shí)也把注意力放在譯本在譯語國的傳播和接受情況。2014年,謝天振的學(xué)生鮑曉英,進(jìn)一步發(fā)展了譯介學(xué)理論,提出了"譯介模式",補(bǔ)充了《譯介學(xué)》的譯介過程。本論文以莫言長篇小說《紅高粱家族》和美國翻譯家葛浩文譯本Red Sorghum為研究對(duì)象,采用定量和定性相結(jié)合的研究方法,并結(jié)合文獻(xiàn)法,文本對(duì)比法,歸納法和演繹法,從"譯"和"介"兩部分,對(duì)紅高粱家族在美國的譯介與傳播進(jìn)行了研究。論文第二章主要采用了文獻(xiàn)法,對(duì)歷年《紅高粱家族》的研究進(jìn)行了分類整理總結(jié)。就第三章"譯"的部分,筆者從譯介學(xué)理論出發(fā),主要應(yīng)用了定量研究和對(duì)比法,把中英文本進(jìn)行對(duì)比,找出文中符合"創(chuàng)造性叛逆"特點(diǎn)的中英文本,結(jié)合"創(chuàng)造性叛逆"這一主要理論觀點(diǎn)分別對(duì)三種"譯者創(chuàng)造性叛逆","讀者創(chuàng)造性叛逆"和"接受環(huán)境創(chuàng)造性叛逆"的內(nèi)容進(jìn)行分析對(duì)比,研究表明葛浩文進(jìn)行文本翻譯時(shí)實(shí)現(xiàn)了英譯本對(duì)原文本的"創(chuàng)造性叛逆",通過結(jié)合個(gè)性化翻譯,誤譯,省譯和節(jié)譯這四種翻譯方法,做到了英譯文本可讀性和異域文化性的結(jié)合統(tǒng)一。就"介"的部分,筆者主要采用定性和定量相結(jié)合的研究方法,從"譯介主體","譯介內(nèi)容","譯介途徑","譯介受眾"和"譯介效果" 5個(gè)方面對(duì)《紅高粱家族》英譯本在美國的傳播情況進(jìn)行了研究。論文分析美國讀者對(duì)中國文學(xué)的閱讀心理,并在OCLC,Amazon等網(wǎng)站搜集大量的數(shù)據(jù)和讀者評(píng)論,以此說明《紅高粱家族》在美國的譯介與傳播情況。通過研究發(fā)現(xiàn),英譯本《紅高粱家族》與同時(shí)期的中國文學(xué)作品相比較,它在美國亞馬遜上的銷量靠前,讀者好評(píng)更甚;在OCLC中同比莫言的其他作品,Red Sorghum收藏?cái)?shù)量最多;同時(shí),作品《紅高粱家族》在國內(nèi)外舞臺(tái)上獲得的大量的獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng),也引起了美國多數(shù)期刊的關(guān)注,各大雜志媒體紛紛發(fā)文對(duì)其進(jìn)行評(píng)論。這些譯介效果的呈現(xiàn)都表明了作品《紅高粱家族》的譯介成功性。通過結(jié)合"譯介學(xué)"理論與《紅高粱家族》中英文本和詳細(xì)分析其在美國的傳播過程,本論文試圖以《紅高粱家族》為范本,為中國當(dāng)代文學(xué)"走出去"提供一些借鑒。
[Abstract]:Since 1980s, Chinese academic circles have been making the sound of culture "going out", but the reality shows that the status quo of "going out" in Chinese literature is not optimistic. Among Mo Yan's numerous works, his novel "Red Sorghum Family" is one of the successful examples of translation and introduction of Chinese literature. In 1993, Professor Xie Tianzhen's monograph "Translation and introduction" was published, which marked the formal introduction of this new interdisciplinary theory. This theory is not intended to study translation skills and linguistic problems, but rather to view translation as a translation activity, a cultural exchange, focusing on the study of "creative treason" in the process of translation. In 2014, Xie Tianzhen's student, Bao Xiaoying, further developed the theory of translation and introduction, and proposed a "translation model", which complements the process of translation and introduction. This thesis takes Mo Yan's novel the Red Sorghum Family as the research object and the American translation of Red Sorghum, which combines quantitative and qualitative methods with literature, text comparison, induction and deduction. This paper studies the translation and dissemination of Red Sorghum Family in America from the two parts of Translation and introduction. In the second chapter, the research of Red Sorghum Family is classified and summarized by literature method. In the third chapter, "Translation", the author mainly applies quantitative research and contrastive method to find out the Chinese and English versions which accord with the characteristics of "creative treason", starting from the theory of translation and introduction, and applying quantitative and contrastive methods to find out the Chinese and English versions of the text in accordance with the characteristics of "creative treason". Combined with the main theory of "creative treason", this paper analyzes and compares the contents of three kinds of "creative treason of translators", "creative treason of readers" and "creative treason of accepting environment". The study shows that the English version of the original text has been "creatively rebellious" by combining the four translation methods of individualized translation, error translation, economization translation and excerpts translation. The combination of readability and foreign culture of the translated text has been achieved. In the part of "introduction", the author mainly adopts qualitative and quantitative research methods. This paper studies the English translation of the Red Sorghum Family in America from five aspects: the subject of translation, the content of translation, the channel of translation, the audience of translation and the effect of translation. This paper analyzes American readers' reading psychology of Chinese literature, and collects a large amount of data and readers' comments at OCLC Amazon and other websites to illustrate the translation and dissemination of Red Sorghum Family in the United States. According to the research, the English translation of Red Sorghum Family is more popular than that of the Chinese literature of the same period, and its sales on Amazon in the United States are higher than those of other works published by Mo Yan in OCLC. At the same time, it has the largest collection of other works compared with Mo Yan. At the same time, "Red Sorghum Family" won a large number of awards on the stage at home and abroad, but also attracted the attention of most American journals, the major magazines and media have published articles to comment on it. These results show the success of the translation of Red Sorghum Family. By combining the theory of Translation and introduction with the Chinese and English versions of the Red Sorghum Family and the detailed analysis of its spreading process in the United States, this paper attempts to use the Red Sorghum Family as a model to provide some references for the Chinese contemporary literature "going out".
