[Abstract]:In this study, the delayed selection behavior of individuals was studied from the perspective of personal cognition, with the emphasis on the analysis of the effects of arm movements on delayed selection at different conflict levels. Based on previous studies, two experiments were conducted to induce the subjects to read and complete the decision-making tasks while maintaining arm movements, and to investigate the effects of unilateral and bilateral arm movements on delayed selection at different conflict levels. In the first experiment, the subjects were randomly assigned to the arm bending or arm stretching group. The subjects were asked to read and complete the decision-making task while maintaining the unilateral arm movement, in order to explore the effect of unilateral arm action on delayed selection at different conflict levels. The results showed that the level of conflict had a significant effect on the delayed selection behavior of individuals, and when the decision-making conflict was high, the participants were more inclined to delay selection, but there was no significant difference in the delayed selection behavior of individuals with different arm movements. In experiment 2, subjects were randomly divided into two groups: consistency group (right hand bending and left hand stretching) and inconsistent group (right hand stretching and left hand bending). Subjects were asked to read and complete decision-making tasks while maintaining bilateral arm movements. To investigate the effects of bilateral arm movements on delayed selection at different conflict levels. The results showed that bilateral arm movements had a significant effect on delayed selection, and subjects with inconsistent arm movements were more inclined to delay selection than those with inconsistent conditions. When the conflict level was high, bilateral arm movements had no significant effect on delayed selection. Accordingly, this study also found that, at low conflict levels, bilateral arm movements had significant marginal effects on individuals' decision-making propensity, compared with non-consistent conditions. In the case of consistency, individuals tend to choose between the current two options, but bilateral arm movements have no significant effect on the delayed selection of individuals when the conflict is high. Combined with the results of two experiments, this study suggests that bilateral arm movements may affect the delayed selection behavior of individuals at low conflict levels. Subjects with inconsistent conditions (right hand bending and left hand stretching) should be more inclined to delay selection than consistency conditions (right hand extension and left hand bending).
