【摘要】：本研究旨在從社會文化角度，探究中英兩國教師教育者對英語教師所需具備的知識所持的信念，通過案例研究，對比執(zhí)教于中英兩所著名高校的英語教師教育碩士課程的教師教育者信念的相似點和不同點，分析其信念形成背后的影響因素以及其信念對新世紀(jì)教師教育實踐的影響。研究者在對三位中國教師教育者和三位英國教師教育者的采訪中發(fā)現(xiàn)，兩國教師教育者都認(rèn)為英語教師需具備有關(guān)英語語言、英語教學(xué)、文化、語言測試、教學(xué)實踐和教學(xué)背景等方面的知識。然而，兩國教師教育者受其所處的社會文化環(huán)境的影響，在對全球化進(jìn)程、社會公平教師教育和二語教師教育的社會文化轉(zhuǎn)型對英語教師教育的影響方面則持有不同的信念。研究表明，為了適應(yīng)全球化進(jìn)程和21世紀(jì)英語學(xué)習(xí)者的多元化要求，中英教師教育者的信念以及兩所高校的英語教師教育碩士課程設(shè)置需要作出一定程度上的改變。本文不僅為所研究的案例提出建議，還為全球視角下的二語教師教育的發(fā)展提供了參考。
