【摘要】：清華學(xué)校自1914年夏起隔年派送十名�？婆裘�,成效顯著。1922年12月清華向外界宣告因"經(jīng)費(fèi)困難"而停送女生,此舉引發(fā)社會(huì)輿論的強(qiáng)烈抗議。清華校方為消眾怒,只得公開其與外交部往來信函自證事態(tài)艱難,然而輿論并不買賬。校內(nèi)外各界紛紛質(zhì)疑清華違背世界"男女平等教育"真義與庚款教育宗旨,中華教育改進(jìn)社并專門調(diào)查清華經(jīng)費(fèi)在男女教育上的使用配比,強(qiáng)調(diào)清華分配在女生教育上經(jīng)費(fèi)過少,進(jìn)而輿論界指出清華停送女生并非經(jīng)費(fèi)短缺,而是各方權(quán)力博弈下導(dǎo)致女生名額遭到擠壓。1923年3月外交部迫于輿論壓力,訓(xùn)令清華更改議決,最終校方于1923年夏選派5名�？婆懊懒魧W(xué)。
[Abstract]:In 1914, Xia Qi sent ten college girls to the United States, with remarkable results. In December 1922, Tsinghua University announced to the outside world that it would stop sending girls because of "funding difficulties", which triggered a strong protest from public opinion. Tsinghua University had to open its correspondence with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to prove that the situation was difficult, but public opinion did not buy it. Inside and outside the school, people from all walks of life have questioned Tsinghua's violation of the true meaning of "education for equality between men and women" and the purpose of education in the world. The China Education improvement Society has also specifically investigated the proportion of Tsinghua funds used in education for both men and women. It is emphasized that the allocation of funds to girls' education by Tsinghua is too low, and then the public opinion has pointed out that the stopping of sending girls from Tsinghua is not a shortage of funds, but a squeeze on the quota of girls under the power game of all sides. In March 1923, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was forced by public opinion pressure. In the summer of 1923, five college girls were selected to study in the United States.
