[Abstract]:In the history of Canadian Women and Canadian Law Liao Zhigang, Canadian law had placed women in a subordinate position. During the rule of France, the army and government were traditionally held only by men; during British rule, women were often prohibited by law from holding public office. It wasn't until the early 20th century that this changed. At the end of the 19th century, many women and some men imposed severe restrictions on female citizenship.
