一般來說,英語中的重復具有修飾或強調作用。根據本文作者的初步觀察,重復在英語商務合同中經常使用。為此,本文分析了英漢商務合同中的重復模式,主要是詞匯重復模式,探討了合同文本中詞匯重復的功能,并由此發(fā)現了一些啟示。 本文運用的理論框架是Karoly(1999)的詞匯重復理論。Karoly的詞匯重復理論是在Hoey的語篇中的詞匯重復理論的基礎上發(fā)展而來的。她將詞匯重復類型劃分為九種:簡單重復、派生重復、簡單同義、派生同義、簡單反義、派生反義、上下義詞、部分整體詞、情景關系詞。她認為詞匯銜接形式就是各種詞匯重復形式,重復作為一種有效的銜接手段,在語篇組織上發(fā)揮著重要的銜接作用。 本文從句際和句內兩個層面比較了英漢商務合同中的詞匯重復模式的異同。本文首先在從各種商務教材、網站上搜尋英語商務合同30篇及其漢語譯本30篇、漢語商務合同30篇,再分別從這三類合同文本中提取30個條款形成由90個合同條款組成的語料庫,并將其作為研究對象,然后分析、對比這三類商務合同條款中的詞匯重復,并計算主要詞匯重復類型在三類合同文本中所占的比例。統(tǒng)計結果表明,三類合同文本中主要的詞匯重復類型是簡單重復、簡單同義、派生...
