儒學(xué)海外傳播是中國(guó)文化“走出去”戰(zhàn)略的重要組成部分,要有效傳播中國(guó)文化,開展跨文化交流,就要從受眾對(duì)中國(guó)文化的接受環(huán)境、方式和視野出發(fā),探索出與目標(biāo)讀者有效的交流方式。目前有關(guān)儒學(xué)在美國(guó)傳播的研究大多是基于數(shù)量極為有限的歷時(shí)材料,偏重個(gè)別傳播實(shí)例的分析,缺乏對(duì)儒學(xué)在美國(guó)傳播整體狀況的了解,有時(shí)取便發(fā)揮,難以反映儒學(xué)文化在美國(guó)傳播的真實(shí)狀況。鑒于此,本研究使用數(shù)據(jù)驅(qū)動(dòng)的方法來(lái)解讀特定時(shí)期在特定國(guó)家和地區(qū)儒學(xué)受納情況。研究數(shù)據(jù)來(lái)自美國(guó)18世紀(jì)末到20世紀(jì)初的英文原創(chuàng)報(bào)刊文本,采用當(dāng)下信息技術(shù)支持的文本數(shù)據(jù)挖掘方法,描述儒學(xué)在美國(guó)大眾中的傳播熱點(diǎn)和歷時(shí)變化,觀察孔子及儒學(xué)在美國(guó)文化和社會(huì)中的定位、敘述和傳播的主要特點(diǎn)。研究發(fā)現(xiàn),從儒學(xué)18世紀(jì)末開始傳入美國(guó)到20世紀(jì)初期,儒學(xué)在美國(guó)的傳播受納情況如下:（1）從報(bào)道內(nèi)容看,19世紀(jì)七十年代之前儒學(xué)報(bào)刊文本以孔子生平類信息為主,七十年代以后更多地關(guān)注儒家思想和哲學(xué)價(jià)值本身,傳播熱點(diǎn)經(jīng)歷了對(duì)孔子生平的關(guān)注向與儒學(xué)思想體系的轉(zhuǎn)變,表明受眾關(guān)注的重點(diǎn)也伴隨著歷時(shí)變化。（2）從文本類型看,美國(guó)報(bào)刊偏好使用采訪或自述類文本傳播儒學(xué),側(cè)重選取有儒學(xué)教育背景的...
