艾麗絲·門羅被譽為“當(dāng)代短篇小說大師”又是2013年的諾貝爾文學(xué)獎得主。這篇論文通過德勒茲的后結(jié)構(gòu)主義理論來分析門羅的代表作《逃離》。論文首先用德勒茲后結(jié)構(gòu)主義理論中的“塊莖”概念來分析小說《逃離》中的復(fù)雜性和不確定性,包括女主角卡拉三次逃離的原因、塞爾維亞對卡拉的難以言說的感情以及小說中弗洛拉這只羊謎一樣的結(jié)局。作者認(rèn)為,德勒茲的“塊莖”概念為解讀《逃離》、探討故事中事件及人物的復(fù)雜性以及不確定性提供了有力工具。作者發(fā)現(xiàn),要十分明晰的解釋出逃離原因、塞爾維亞的感情、弗洛拉的結(jié)局是不可能的,他們都是由多種多樣的因素互相作用,甚至有時是解釋不清楚的。我們能做的就是接受這一事實,而非嘗試去闡釋。此外,論文還用德勒茲的后結(jié)構(gòu)主義理論中的“領(lǐng)域”概念以及從欲望觀的角度來分析卡拉逃離背后的意義。筆者認(rèn)為,卡拉的逃離是種“解轄域”運動而且并不是一般意義上所認(rèn)為的失敗,相反,多次的逃離恰恰體現(xiàn)出了卡拉追求更好的生活的強大欲望或生命力。而且卡拉所選擇的生活是由她自己決定的,并沒由為某種主義、觀念所左右。作者認(rèn)為能夠自主地抉擇自己的生活才是自我尊重的表現(xiàn)。
