閃避策略是在記者招待會上頻繁地被發(fā)言人用于回應記者提出的一些艱澀且很棘手的問題。本文旨在優(yōu)選論框架內(nèi)探討記者招待會上中美發(fā)言人對閃避策略的不同選擇及其深層次根源。本文對源自于中國外交部和美國國務院的各30場記者招待會的語料進行了定量和定性分析。優(yōu)選論是20世紀90年代由Prince和Smolensky提出的,其最初是被用來分析音系學方面的問題,但是現(xiàn)在該理論已經(jīng)運用到諸如語義學、母語和二語習得、語用學等領(lǐng)域。優(yōu)選論的語法由詞庫、生成器和評估器構(gòu)成。詞庫包含輸入項的所有的底層表征,生成器生成輸入項的候選項,評估器評估這些候選項并選出最優(yōu)項。優(yōu)選論的核心是制約條件及其等級排序,制約條件具有普遍性和違反性。語言的不同在于其制約條件的不同等級排序,優(yōu)選論兼顧了語言的普遍性和特殊性。中美記者招待會上的發(fā)言人都傾向于利用各種各樣的閃避策略,包括模糊策略、委婉語策略、低調(diào)陳述策略、預設(shè)策略、刻意曲解策略和公開回避策略。限制這些策略選擇的制約條件主要有:真實性制約條件、相關(guān)制約條件、簡明制約條件、數(shù)量制約條件、贊譽制約條件、慷慨制約條件、贊同制約條件和得體制約條件。這些制約條件源自于格萊斯的合作原則和...
