隨著科學(xué)技術(shù)的發(fā)展,越來越多的語篇逐漸呈現(xiàn)多模態(tài)化。尤其是在新聞報道語篇中更是如此:報紙上圖像越來越多,占得篇幅也越來越大;網(wǎng)上新聞報道甚至還鏈接上了視頻,不僅有動態(tài)圖像,而且還有聲音。換句話說,圖像在新聞報道中發(fā)揮著越來越重要的作用。一些研究批評語篇分析的學(xué)者十分關(guān)注新聞?wù)Z篇,但是他們僅僅關(guān)注新聞?wù)Z篇中的文字,而有關(guān)新聞圖像分析的研究則鳳毛麟角。本文以Kress和van Leeuwen提出的視覺語法為理論基礎(chǔ),對中美媒體報道西藏3.14動亂事件時使用圖像的情況進行多模態(tài)語篇分析,揭示中美媒體在這一事件的報道中體現(xiàn)的不同意識形態(tài)。具體來說,中國媒體將警察建構(gòu)成西藏人民和社會的“保護神”;將動亂分子建構(gòu)成給西藏人民帶來災(zāi)難,給西藏和中國造成巨大損失的暴徒、惡棍。而美國媒體卻將警察建構(gòu)成粗暴的“鎮(zhèn)壓者”;反而將動亂分子建構(gòu)成“弱者”,在一些圖像中,甚至將他們建構(gòu)成“和平抗議者”。分析表明,通過圖像制造者在向量、接觸、距離、視角、信息值、顯著性和框架等方面的加工,圖像已不再具有簡單的再現(xiàn)意義、互動意義和構(gòu)圖意義,而是成為媒體表達其意識形態(tài)意義的一種方式。
