縱覽國內(nèi)外委婉語的研究歷史,中外語言學(xué)家主要從修辭、社會(huì)、語用、心理等不同角度對委婉語進(jìn)行分析研究,且大多數(shù)研究均著重于某一特定的語言,從跨文化角度進(jìn)行的對比研究則相對不足。同時(shí),綜觀國內(nèi)外對委婉語的研究,不難發(fā)現(xiàn),委婉語的翻譯研究這一領(lǐng)域,鮮有人問津。有鑒于此,本文嘗試從跨文化層面對英漢委婉語進(jìn)行系統(tǒng)的對比研究,并結(jié)合翻譯理論的知識(shí)探討委婉語的翻譯問題。 本文首先回顧了國內(nèi)外委婉語的研究歷史及現(xiàn)狀,并介紹了委婉語的定義,分類；然后從其語言特征對中英委婉語的構(gòu)成方式(如語音、詞匯和修辭)和生成原則(距離原則、關(guān)系原則和禮貌原則)及發(fā)展規(guī)律進(jìn)行了對比分析；接著討論了委婉語的交際功能,并從宗教、社會(huì)價(jià)值觀等方面,用具體典型事例對中英委婉語的文化特色做出了系統(tǒng)性的對比分析；同時(shí),在上述對比分析的基礎(chǔ)上,就委婉語翻譯中出現(xiàn)的難點(diǎn),提出了相應(yīng)的翻譯策略。最后,文章闡述了中英委婉語的跨文化對比對跨文化交際和外語教學(xué)的啟示。 本研究的成果可以濃縮為以下三點(diǎn)：1)委婉語是一種基于社會(huì)交際的語言現(xiàn)象。中英委婉語的構(gòu)成有諸多相似之處,它們都遵循一定的生成原則,即距離原則、關(guān)系原則、禮貌原則。2)委婉語是一...
